David Remnick could say the exact same words about the USA election process. We have no representation in the USA. The media lies to the US people and controls who will have exposure as a candidate. Ron Paul is a present example of such controls. Manipulation of vote count is another method of their control. Before Americans point their finger at foreign govts and elections, it should fist clean up its own lawlessness and secure the Contitutional processes, in earnest.
America needs to end it's Cold War chauvinism if anything close to friendly-relationship with Russia is to occur. Our cold relations with Russia are as much our doing as it is theirs even more so in my opinion. Putin is far milder than these hawks make him out to be. That's not to say their is repression in the Russian federation but maybe we should look at the corrupt bureautcization and human rights violations in America before we preach to our Russian friends.
USA is a fictional democracy where people got a fictional option to choose between two sides republicans and democrats what path to take. However the ruling party behind the shadows have as puppets both political parties AND ANY OTHER NEUTRAL PEOPLE TRYING TO GET INTO POLITICS ARE CRUSHED IN USA! Google the story of Jessie Ventura.
I am Ukrainian what the FUCK is this fucking face talking about it so not true PUTIN is the best presidend ever and so is Medvedev. And Russians are not agressive they are friendly and they like americans and georgians but we hate american government and georgians which pretty much same shit. You people wake up remember 911 same shit in georgia inside job of american government
Americans are naive. Russians chose Medvedev b/c they chose strength over variety&dissent. And it was totally democratic. They've been through hard times and are feeling momentum going their way and dont want to sacrifice it to what we consider 'higher values'. Americans and their PC inclusive priorites are weakening the US at the worst time ever. Yeah, Obama is a joke and the Russians would love for him to be elected. Russia respects strength, not variety. We need to play this one very wisely.
you libs like to keep telling yourself that until your so self hypnotized you believe it. If Russia really did want McCain it would eb so they could sit across the table from someone they take seriously. Obama would be like putty in their hands.
He already offered his best card in negotiations (1 on 1 talks w/ NK) as his platform . That right there was enough to cvince anyone that understands diplomacy and negotiation that Obama is a friggin joke that goes to a black nationalist church.
America is strong regardless of who is in office, we just wont be nearly as offensive with any of the 3 candidates. Russians smell like bologna anyway, they need better hygiene.
@mullaahmed So I guess you like to have sex with little girls? or you like little boys too? What is it does it take someone that young and insecure and inexperienced to make you feel like a man? I guess you feel like a genius playing trivia games with retarded kids too?
Americans are naive. Russians voted for Medvedev because they chose stregth over vaiety and dissent. Like it or not this is really how they did it. ITs not that it was antidemocratic at all. They have faced hard times recently and yes the first guest is 1/2 right - its not an open system. But it will be a strong one and Americans need to get their 'hopeful' heads out of their arses. We are being weakened by our own PC inclusive ways while Russia is tightening its act. Yeah, btw Obama's a joke.
One more reason to vote for McCain. Can you imagine Obama trying to deal with Medvedev? The Russians would trample him underfoot. McCain is the only one strong enough to deal with Mendvedev.
Democracy, Monarchy etc - whats that all about? To get things done. There is no choise in Russia today concerning "what has to be done". Cos almost all in Russia see that things the same way - today. And Putin + Medvedev promissed us to do exectly "what has to be done". Commies, nationalists offered there agenda - and got there 30% of voices. Kasparov & Co. offered differen game: "lets build democracy and a such" - and got "fuck off" voice cos we know those builders...
Putin is the man of the hour, certainly the man of the last decade, he brought Russia back from the brink of anarchy to a secure and rich country, by establishing policies that were good for the people and the country, and as far as curtailing democracy is concerned, who gives a damn when people are prospering. watch Russia's progress from now on vs the U.S. you might discover that Democracy is the most overrated system of government. in which nothing gets done because of special interest groups
Agreed. Democracy can only work if the public is educated. The US wants to maintain hegemony or something right? How can it in this technological age when the majority of the public is so anti-science that they reject evolution. Dunno what chunk of them doubt heliocentrism, but I'm sure I'd be surprised. So, meritocracy/technocracy is definitely going to become more and more prevalent in the future, and more and more opposed to the "dumb-voter" democracy of so many "free" countries.
There are more then just 1 elected official in america dude, get off the rhetoric. Checks and Balances are there for a purpose, there are 2 other civilian branches of our government, use them if you don't like what you see.
Far be it for any American to chastise any country about democracy. Between Bush's installation, delegate, super delegates, electoral college we don't even have an illusion of a democracy. ...and, yes, I know how the ec works & why it was created. It's undemocratic
Good point. I don't see much difference between a 1 party system and a 2 party system, especially when both are pretty centrist. Bring in a 3rd party to shake things up! But that won't be allowed by the institutions in power.

У нас уже поняли, что ничего не надо больше просить и не плясать вприсядку перед западом ради крохи мимолетного признания, это радует.

@FarFromEquilibrium In America gay couples are OK, but when a man has sex with teenage girl that's considered 'sick'. Yeah, sick yankees.
