  • Awesome!

  • better than the origin!

  • Glee use autotune; do not compare, Swingle Singers is another level.

  • Great voices and a quality instrument that you can't buy on ebay:-)

  • Sounds like Glee to me...

  • @soraXkairi1000 The makers of glee did happen to withdraw from a number of great musical styles and niches, this one is no different :)

  • @soraXkairi1000 Glee has not yet, to my knowledge, done anything like this actually. Almost every (if not all) one of their songs not only has lyrics, but musical accompaniment. The Swingle Singers are not only completely Acapella, they do songs that are entirely devoid of words.

  • @Cosamaru It's still a cappella if the songs don't have words hahaha.

A cappella simply means no instruments other than the voice

  • If you like this, you should look for records of the german band "Comedian Harmonists" from the early XX century.

  • Very cool. I'd love to hear them do the full-length Jonny Quest theme.

  • i like swingle singers.....

  • This takes me intensely near the Caribean group 'tam echo tam' but the swingle singers on the highest level.

  • The Swingle Singers are a mostly a cappella vocal group formed in 1962 in Paris, France with Ward Swingle, Anne Germain, Jeanette Baucomont and Jean Cussac. Christiane Legrand, the sister of composer Michel Legrand, was the lead soprano in the original French group. There are a total of eight members in the group: two sopranos, two altos, two tenors and two basses. In 1973, the original French group disbanded and Ward Swingle moved to London and re-formed the group with new members

  • @swisstrucker82 as Swingle II. They would later perform and record under the name The Swingles and then, The New Swingle Singers and eventually, simply, The Swingle Singers. Since the London group's incarnation, the group has never disbanded. Members have come and gone and the other members have re-auditioned for the voice part that has left

  • 12 people self-destructed in less than 5 seconds.

  • 8O

  • Dis is reeeeal beautiful.

  • Excelente! La verdad que es un arreglo genial!

  • They sing the Flight of The Bumblebee on glee when someone's about to get a slushie :3

  • I think the version of this band in the 60's was called Quire, alos led by Christine Legrand.

  • They are great!! love it!!

  • cool

  • Very clever but couldn't endure a whole evening of it.

  • @kevinJackson1 i feel ya

  • Hey guys, the group's changed alot since this video - if you want to check out all our official videos, we have our own youtube channel, /swinglesingers

including some of our GLEE music! :-) x x x

  • Ward Swingle formed the group back in the 60's and they sang all over

Europe--and we finally got to hear them in the states! I have a recording of the orignal group--they were marvelous! They are even more fun to see in person.

  • the ArRE the original Swingle Sister.. there was some "Turn over" during the years :)

  • @Bullivant82 How can they be the original Swingle Singers (not Swingle Sisters) when the group was formed in the 1960s well before any of them were born?

I think the founder Ward Swingle is not even involved anymore. They are very clever but i prefer the original group and their repertoire.

  • Sorry that's shaylen911

  • @ sheylan wer did you get that information? Abt them singing on glee?

  • @SuperPsalm91 Several pieces of interlude music on Glee, including the ending credit music is sung by the Swingle Singers. The information is on the Swingle Singers website as well other places. Numbers include "Flight of the Bumblebee", "A Fifth of Beethoven", "Soul Bossa Nova" (aka the Austin Powers theme), Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and Golliwog's Cakewalk.

  • 8 persons needs to die, now!

  • reminds me to the "Wise Guys" (same in german ;) )

  • great!!!

  • is there somewhere to get this recording..i cant find this song on itunes...they others they've done...

  • :) very good!!!

  • Chanter ça... Mission Accomplie !!! Bravo !!!

  • they are amazing and for the people that didn't know this they're the ones that created the glee openinng, closings and other songs

  • @iluvmysvu the bgs for Glee were inspired by the Swingle Singers

  • @Zlitherin as a matter of fact, the Swingle Singers sing the parts on Glee!

    mfRiffs

    plecpickjoe

  • I think the song in this video in singing by Rockapella...

  • No, they aren't the originals. In fact, since I first heard the Swingle Singers sometime around the mid 1960s, I doubt many of the current members parents were even born yet.

  • CooL. Thank you very much for your information.

    it is very interesting

    With friendly Licks

    marco

  • I love this.

    PlecPickJoe4music:

    ''With friendly Licks''

    are you a dog?

  • lol do you not know what licks are?

  • nope :L

  • @iamReckless73 brilliance doesn't have a dob!

  • @iamReckless73 you're right... the first swinge singers were based in paris, but when they were dissolved, ward swingle set up a new group (first known as swingle II, eventually after some name transformations again as the swingle singers) based in london. members have joined and left the group since then, but it's always been 2 basses, 2 tenors, 2 altos and 2 sopranos and the remainder of the group would hold auditions for the missing part whenever someone left.

  • @Yossus its like saying you have a sweeping brush thats 50 years old, its only had 5 heads and three handles since it was new.

  • amazing what people can do with their voices!!

  • ya know whats funny, my last name is swingle and its spelled just like that. were not related to them though.

  • Dats that truth

  • can you edit this song ?because i need that this song have 30 seconds more

  • Never forget... The English language (together with Italian and Latin) originated on this side of the Atlantic Pool! i.e. (Latin= id est!) the European side. But thanks for the gratuitous lesson anyway.

  • I've performed with these people! they're amazing!!

  • congrats!

    so jealous

  • wow thats sick, I feel like james bond!!!!

  • you mean Ethan Hunt xD

  • cool

  • cool

  • I am just passionate about harmony... and it doesn't come any better than this! Possibly comparable to the "King's Singers"

  • soooo this is acapella(sp?)

  • Correctly spelled! Sometimes A-Capella! If you like the style, check out "Steeleye Span " "Gaude Te.

  • Actually KyranGeraghty, you are incorrect. The correct spelling is "a cappella" (Italian spelling and first spelling used) or "a capella" (Latin spelling). The "a" is separate from the "cappella/capella." The Italian spelling is preferred in music dictionaries. The US screwed it up (can we not screw up everything we touch? lol) by combining the "a" with the "cappella/capella." Either way, there is no "-" between the "a" and the "cappella/capella." So there's your music history lesson, lol.

  • First rate!...as anything by the Swingle Singers.

  • ... very nice...

  • These guys should do the 7 nation army!

  • i loved this group....hope ure group perform in indonesia

  • I don't think there are female voices in rockapella.

and i don't think that there are eight voices in rockapella.

  • They are. I watched them live. The 4th male from the right is Richard Eteson, one of the tenors. No doubt about it. I got his autograph on one of their CDs. :)

  • I love barber singers and I love them!

  • omg! very nice lol xD

  • Saaagenhaft....sounds like cawing chicken more or less....

  • saw them on classic Open air in Berlin, fanstatic

  • I think that they are not at the same level of the first "Swingle Singers"... the previous singers were more expressive and had better voice capabilities, especially the chief soprano and the basses, but I would say in general.

  • just check out 1812 overture by the well..."previous" Swingle Singers. The Swingle Singers nowadays are a bit commercial.

  • it's so cool they're only using voices

  • fantastici!mi fanno impazzire!

  • wirklich super ich muss schon sagen genial

  • i think you could have just deleted the comment...lol

  • They came to Labette Community College the other day, too bad I missed them. I had to look them up on YouTube after all my friends were talking about how amazing they were.

  • they came to my school in South Carolina US thay sang this song and came to our class to do a small work shop it was incredible. and TOM is beautiful and i want to marrie him

  • Just saw them at the University of Vermont. They performed this piece.. and I have to say, they are WELL worth seeing. Awesome!

  • I don't think people understand that you have to posess perfect pitch in order to be in this group

  • While having perfect pitch would be a wonderful talent to have while singing acapella, especially with tis level of difficulty, it is not necessary. I myself possess perfect pitch, and while it comes in handy, anyone trained musician, vocal or otherwise, can do extremely well without it. It just takes precise training of the vocal chords. Have a happy day! :D

  • Whoa buddy. I don't know how you think I am arrogant, but I NEVER take a gift for granted. I was just explaining, because someone made a comment earlier about "they mst all have perfect pitch", that it is not necessary to have perfect pitch to sing acapella this well. I know a lot of good people who don't and sing this good if not better. It just takes training. You miscontrued my comment as arrogance, and I am only ever polite in commenting. Again, I will end by saying, "Have a happy day!"

  • Oh, and I would also like to point out that you have to be extremely arrogant yourself to think that anyone has to prove anything to you. Just because I don't flaunt myself, like you would like me do to, doesn't mean I don't appreciate a god-given talent. I downplay perfect pitch because it is not necessary to be good. Just because I have it does NOT make me better than anyone else. You are just a rude commenter and I will forget about your nonsense in the morning.

  • if ur training yourself you bacisally can achieve perfect (almost perfect) pitch....but no one is "Perfect"...they are just really really good and sing b/c they love to

  • sorry, but with the greatest of respect you lot are talking rubbish. Perfect Pitch is a gift - you either have it or you don't. It doesn't describe your singing quality but merely the ability to name any specific pitch by ear, i.e. without the aid of a musical instrument or pitch pipe/tuning fork. People may develop this gift through early training, such as through the Suzuki teaching method, or may simply be born with it, but it is both a blessing and a curse and arrogance is irrelevant!

  • WOW!

  • DUDE!!! that is sooooo cool!!

  • WOW!!! how do you guys maintain the quality performance from generation to generation? do you have an audition? who is responsible in training the singers? BRAVO!!!!!

  • OMG TOTALLY COOL.

  • love it!

  • So perfect !!! . Cheers, Sergio, Patagonia, Argentina.

  • Extra !!!

  • me gusta tambien :)

  • me encanta este grupo, Gran interpretación

  • Awesome!

  • clap clap clap swingle clap

  • Fantastique ;-)))))))))) Bravo
