Sam looks so cute in this episode, she was such a beautiful woman. and a great actress too, there will never be another Elizabeth Montgomery that is for sure.
I'd forgotten what it was like to see a program where smoking was an everyday thing. Repulsive when you watch him inhale at 10:53. When I grew up parents gave their 18 year olds a carton of cigs for their birthday present. No one knew the dangers then. I've lost my mother and older sister to smoking. Let's help others not pretend that it isn't deadly. It's not romantic or appealing. I hate it with everything in me. I've heard it called an adult's passificer and that's absolutely right.
@Songsmirth I'm sorry for your losses, I agree that smoking is not attractive. It's a shame that when you were younger, it was a much more glorified activity and there was probably less knowledge about the dangers. A lot of my friends smoke and drink and are shocked that I don't, but I'm shocked that they DO, given what we know. At least they don't tend to be given as gifts, now. Let's hope that things continue to change for the better.
I think Samantha should have brought them back to when he asked about the back door being locked instead of asking for the pencil. Then his ankle would have never had been injured.
@Geniusisdead In one early ep, he asked if she was "22? 24? Older?" And she didn't answer, meaning she was a lot older...possibly hundreds or thousands of years. She's made to look in her 20s, I guess, based on his comment. Darrin would be around 30.
Forget the crying! When she comes around the corner in that white dress looking so lovely, WOW!!! Everytime I watch this episode, I go back to that particular second several times. And all she gets out of Darrin is a Wow! I would be holding her in my arms by the time he can even mutter that!
I can understand Darrin not wanting Sam to "help" his career or get them things (car, house, etc.) that he couldn't earn on his own but why make her do housework like a mortal. Twitch your nose and the house is clean, the clothes are washed, ironed and put away and dinner on the table. Of course, if he let her use her magic there would be fewer plots and misadventures.
@IstvanN1961 , darrin is the type person who if he earned his money the normal way became a Millionaire he still wouldn't like allt he fancy trimings a Millionaire's life gives you and he wouldn't hire normal house hold servents he would still do everything himself. the guy is a Moron I'd have no problems letting Sam use her magic around the house it wouldn't bother me.
its really silly , that Darrin does not allow Samantha any tricks which would make life easier and so much fun - and i am sure something could be worked out that it would not cause trouble , like, keep it just with small things - it feels dumb to restrict Samantha like that - surely there needs to be a compromise ?? otherwise the message is not very good...i know it happens anyway - but whats his problem ?? any two people need to compromise .... whatever their odd habits may be...
Why is this episode named "A is for Aardvark"? Its a very good episode... really points out why everything can't be at our fingertips.
