The reason he might have a model of a camcorder as opposed to the real thing is in the development of the camcorder product - in the process of product design so that the engineers and designers can determine what the final product will look like. Also sales & marketing departments will use 3D models before the actual product is produced in focus groups, sales opportunities and photo shoots/tradeshows. It's called iterative design & the biggest companies worldwide are using it and 3D printing.
They could of gone with any number of useful things like a tool of any kind but no, we get to see a dude make a fake camcorder? What is that guy going to do with a fake camcorder? Pretend to shoot a video because he spent all his money on a 3D printer?
@cyberrioter It's totally feasible and common to print a model of a camcorder or any other product that must be designed. Product designers are hard at work revising, iterating their designs using ZPrinters until they achieve one that will ultimately become the finished product - camcorder product designers are no different.
ZPrinters have the lowest operating cost in the industry! Also the fastest print speed and only ones capable of printing in multiple colors simultaneously. Pretty cool.

@mstenger404 yeah but let's not forget that the first CD recording device cost was 20000$. The first empty CD went for about 50$. and about 3 decades after the original release cd's and devices are available for a few dollars. by 2020 i bet that one of these devices will be sitting on my desk and will be able to print electronic parts as well. and by then apart from downloading pirated games from torrent sites we will be also downloading pirated gaming consoles!!! :P
@MartinSemmelrogge666 maybe when a molecular assembler will be available... ahhh the fact that i will be long dead before that happens pisses me off >: (
@cyberlord64 no i think since the internet.... technical evolution will accelerate faster and faster. everyone can learn everything. i think this assembler will be available in a few years

Actually, ZPrinters start as low as $14,900 USD and as far as operating cost, they are the lowest in the industry.

Hey for only a low price of $60,000 this can be yours!
