  • hey James,

when you say here is some of the new development, refering to the recently built apartments -note well that the same phenomena is in my neighborhood also.

    .

There are so many changes happening that if you went on vacation, upon return you may get completely lost.

    .

Nice to see your neck of the woods and thoes big titties, too.

    cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • Wow, this is perfect. I used to live on N10th street in between Berry and Bedford during the 90s, so this is really my home town.

  • Yes -- many, many thanks for all of the videos. Withdrawal I've been experiencing. Shari Mendelson is very deliberate. The smile erupted as a surprise to me. Somewhat humble things like this are among the very best parts of the planet. I personally feel uncomfortable as such a taker/consumer out here. If there is any way one can assist ...

  • Make Kate's day, send shopin-bags of cash via the Brooklyn Rail, (just kidding) A MacArthur Grant would be nice, pull some strings. JK

  • Thank you for the 200 videos.

    Take care, from Brasil.

  • Thanks Ron and Mr.Wow,

You might be interested in a piece I working on for the June "Brooklyn Rail" titled "The Brooklyn Canon" it's a response to Jerry' Saltz's "New York Canon" a compilation of his version of the important art historical happenings in NY in the last 40 years. Unfortunately he seems oblivious to Brooklyn and the 'Burg. JK

  • that sounds like an interesting piece and brooklyn deserves a spotlight......about seven years ago the photographer timothy greenfield-sanders photographed groups of brooklyn artists; for what, i'm not sure, yet.

  • Greenfield-Sanders, at the request of Annie Herron, re-re-created the famous "Irrascables" photo originally taken by Nina Lean in 1951 for "Life Magazine" He posed various dealers, artists and critics as the Ab-Exers. He'd done the same trick in the EV in the 1980s.

  • have you seen those pictures anywhere?

  • You can Google New Irrascables Greenfield-Sanders and they should pop up. Also Carol Kino wrote a piece on her involvment with the shoot.

  • i have a feeling we'll see more of those pictures in the near future.........thanks for another great vid:)

  • ARTS Magazine published them mid-eighties

  • RonSchira....i mean the brooklyn photo shoot from 7(?) years ago(i haven't seen them in print)...but, thank you:)

  • AND ... 200 videos!! Wow!

  • That's true, it is like anywhere else, but more of it, more people, more buildings, more cars, more dogs, more beautiful women, more noise and MORE ART! I enjoyed how you documented the streets, to me it gives a better sense of place and how these artists live. Thank you.

  • brooklyn is GREAT!!! can't be beat!

  • thanks mr. kalm. i live in brooklyn so i'm familiar with the scenery......but for everyone who doesn't live here and hears about how cool it is.....now you know it's pretty standard fair.....shops, people and ATM's, oh....lots of new buildings that artists can't afford to live in.....also.. dogs and babies and dogs and dog-crap everywhere........BROOKLYN!!!!!!
