I have been looking for years trying to find an English language biography of the real Carlo Broschi, not the made-up version of the award-winning film. All my research about him has come from bits a pieces from many different sources. There are Italian, French, and German sources, but not so much in English. The Institute For the Study of Farinelli should make some future report of their forensic research on his remains. Ann Rice certainly did good research when she wrote "Cry to Heaven."
it's an interesting movie...i had written a novella about Carlo Broschi a.k.a. Farinelli in high school...i think the castrati period in history is extremely fascinating...
Yes I know what you mean ,I share your view , really a novella it sounds interesting it most have been lots of research and work in to that novella , hope you had a good grade or maybe was just something for you own pleasure .
Yes it was for school...it's called a personal project and we had to dedicate our time to it throughout the entire year...The mark is out of 7 (don't ask..it's weird)and I received a 7/7 for my work...and yes hours of research did go into writing the novella...but every second of it was filled with pleasure.
awesome vid...never saw the movie but ive done research on castrati & i'm sort of a choir nerd. ps - LOVE your username. Drew Sarich is absolutely amazing. he's nice in person, too
Well ,I dare to recomend you a great read: Cry To Heaven if you got the chance I think you would like it, is from Anne Rice and is about the castrati(but maybe you allready did , right Joanna *wink*)Thank you , he is amazing isn't , I keep hearing is a great person too so I don't doubt it , did you happen to meet him?.
