Don't care if she's black, purple, or green. She's a down right bitch on court. Sure, she's a great athlete but when you accomplish so much, it's also important to have grace. ex. Federer. Race has nothing to do with her attitude on court.
well the issue doesnt have to be race, but when it obviously is you cant ignore it. White players do alot worse things and they get no fine or no penalty...so what else would it be other than racism?
It is still pathetic how after all these years has gone by racism still lives on. The people who survive off of being racist really needs a psychiatrist, that is not cool at all. Dammit, we are all our own damn color and have problems that we deal with in our own way. There are billions of us that live on this damn planet, we are equal, please show some damn respect to those who have enough courage to pursue their careers and dreams and may have issues throughout the way. Respect comes first
Serena might be an angry black woman. If she was white she would have been an angry white woman but since some people are prone to say "white is right" that is not a stereotype.I dont see her argument as an outburst. I see John McEnroe's kicking and screaming as outbursts.
i would love to lick the dogshit off that nigger bitches finger -waving it around to spread her filthy scent. black woman are my favorite when its time to get down and dirty.
I checked into into use of the word "hater" and no question about it now... when Serena said the ref was a hater, she was saying the ref was a bigot. That is how the word is used by the black community. I had to check on that, and yes, hater=racist or bigot.
I had to look it up, because I didn't even realize the word was a part of common speech. Apparently I was wrong. It is, and it's another word for racist or bigot.
Serena isn't being sterotyped - Serena is a racist so are those who make videos defending her on the race card - the primary reason she is crticised is because her behavior is atrocious.
I looked into her history on the tennis court, and she's pretty squeaky clean there.
But when she used the word HATER.... sorry.... there aren't many interpretations one could have to explain why someone would be motivated to be a generic "hater."
If you can give me one OTHER than race, I'd like to hear it... for example, you might argue the ref hates all tennis players, or the ref hates tennis players who shout, or the ref hates everybody...
First understand I agree that skin color shouldn't be looked as first cause as is so often done today. You seem to understand what Martin Luther King meant when he said judge a person on their character, not by the color of their skin.
Okay. Serena first said don't look at me if we come across each other, then later says again, "don't look at me, I promise ya, don't look at me." Those are threats. Serena called the ref a "hater." That is a generalization... about what???
I'd like to point out that racism is one thing, but it's equally ignorant not to acknowledge race differences. Try not to see color? It's impossible not to. I'm not an authority on the matter but there's science to back it up. Physical and neurological differences exist...and stereotypes are perpetuated for a damn good reason. They aren't true for everyone, but they are averages that are usually true.
@thetaxiucla Thats what you think only because thats how the media protrays black people. She isn't the first player to do this, if a white player does something like this people will just say' oh they have there moments' She doesn't always act like this, I agree what she did was wrong but its not because she's black.
She acted like a spoiled brat. Race has nothing to do with it. She should be ashamed of her outbursts. The ref was correct with her call. She broke the rules and was called out on it. End of story.
how does her getting mad at the umpire become a typical black women stereotype when ppl get mad they say angry things god america is such a dumb country
If you're going to call Serena Williams a typical angry black woman, you should call John McEnroe a typical angry white man. Who doesn't get angry during a tennis match?!
I have lived in America my whole life, and I have never once heard the expression "Typical Black Woman".
I've lived in cities, I've lived in suburbs , I've lived in the boonies. I've lived in the north, I've lived in the south. I've lived in the east, and I've lived in the west.
Until Obama came on the scene to divide America again by race, we were even getting rid of Affirmation Action policies. Martin Luther King said look to character not race. Obama plays race cards.
@bobbyjwoodruff And yet someone else who blames everything on Obama. I dont care much for him to be honest, but how did he "divide America"? If anything, America has shown its true colors after his election with its Birther movement, the Tea Party, a now widely accepted Islamophobia, amongst other bigoted views.
Its all about race nowadays, and WHITES are the ones to bring it up in the first place, more often than not. Today, they claim to be the victim. Isn't that also pulling the race card?
Obviously you don't know because it doesn't apply to you. When a person is unfamiliar with a subject, that person shouldn't chime in with their uninformed opinion (in this case you). I can see you are just as unfamiliar with Martin Luther King and his answer to racial problems being as simple as 'ignore race, judge on character'.
And yes, that means when Serena said to the ref that she was a "hater", that could have only one meaning: she was saying the ref was a racist.
I want to add something that is very important for you to grasp, and the sooner you understand this point the better.
A racist is someone who focuses on race over all other considerations. Most people nowadays try to ignore race and look to character. They don't always succeed, but they try.
Sure I've been a victim of racial prejudice, and yes I'm white, but who hasn't at some time in their lives?
But your comments seem to indicate you DON'T try to ignore race.
Come on guys, give her a break everyone does a mistake.By now,she might have already apologized. All game players have this attitude so no need for those racist slurs.
@MrSir48 I agree..im surprised this video has that many views. Serena is someone I look up to even with her outbursts, she's still an amazing athlete. Also she gives back to the community.
@MrSir48 yeah but think about it, shes done this before and has been playing for years, she should have been more professional. i agree there is no need for racism (there never is) but to be honest she was really acting like a class A bitch so dont defend her, just accept there was no need for that, and she actually refused to apoligize in the interview after although she did tweet something about it. she should have apologised to the umpires face, not over twitter
Serena is a fucking disgrace to all the great black sportsmen and women out there. What a dumb fat rude cow. Thankfully the bitch lost the match to the wonderful Stoser!
She was angry not because of the call, but because of the woman that called it. The woman that called the penalty was supposedly someone Serena recognized before. The unprofessional, childish rant she gave in several video clips adds to the attention she's been getting.
Further more, If I were to say that black men have huge dicks, that would be O.K. or cool. Because of the truth of the matter. However, to say this would be no less racist than to say that black people eat a lot of fried chicken. "Ooh, dude watch it!".. you say. It's not true? Have you been to Memphis. Tell me black people don't like fried chicken. Do other people like chicken? Sure. I do. Do people of other color have large junk? Sure. Again I do. But not as big as a black dudes.
You can't say that every stereotype doesn't have just a little truth in it... If I were to say Mexicans don't drive vans, that would be silly and obviously not true. But to say Mexicans drive vans would be a stereotype, and not even funny. It doesn't have to do with race. It has to do with popular traits within a race or group of people. Why Mexicans drive vans is another question. An answer may be that there is an economic reason for it. Like a black man stealing a watermelon.
Lol when do angry black women say thats totally not cool. obviously you who made this is white and dumb lol aswell as not an athlete who plays in highly competitive games. What can i say when, tom brady goes up to a reff cuz he thinks he got hit wrong and says the same thing, typical white male ?? lol Its a sport , no matter what race your gonna be mad if you fell like you get cheated ... so stupid lol
@val21491 Because of Serena's elite status in the tennis world she represents the black women to all around the world. Many people may get their idea of Black women from Serena. Serena's behavior was similar to that of the TBW stereotype, and this was not the first time.. So therefore Serena represents on behalf of all Black women and she was portraying us in a negative way to some people.
@TVInformative That's because people are stupid. Noone says she is a representative of all black woman when she wins something, or do something good. When a white person do something terrible noone say that he/she ir representing all white persons. God, you americans have to stop with this race thing all the time. For you, everything must end in a race discussion. Bottom line: She was angry and said stupid things, like everyone.
@TVInformative Serena does NOT represent Black women. She represents herself. This is the 2nd time she has shown herself to be ghetto. I appluad her work in Africa to build schools Im disappointed in her lack of class and lack of knowledge of tennis rules.
Serena is a talented athlete but that outburst was not appropriate. Who knows what motivated her to do that, maybe the pressure got her. On the otherhand she usually conducts herself well but the only images you see give her a negative portrayal. If you follow tennis you see she is passionate about the sport and this behaviour is not like her.
my thing is y they only catch serena with her actions, she not the only tennis player to react like that...i dnt have no problem with wat she said...shes a very emotional talented player...she just came back a couple mos ago. she been winning...i bet nobody knws who beat serena...this gettin more play than the match smh
@chefawkes I hear ya, I don't even get involved with back and forth comments to half the ignorant shit that's said on here. You have to block it out, because like I said, they are all IGNORANT!!!!!!!!!!!! Because of her outburst and I was at the match that night, these people have nothing else to do but resort to crazy name calling. I could go on and on but I won't!
Can we please, and please stop talking about the same stuff over and over and over again, it DOES NOT matter if she is black, green, yellow, mexican, latin, asian, etc, etc, etc, she lost her cool, and she did something terrible, she should be punished because of that, all this racial talk is just patethic, this is 2011 and we are still talking about the color of the skin, BS.
In America every thing has to do with race, Serena has an obligation to her fans and the Black community to represent us in a positive light. Serena's actions were that of what some would call a "TBW". a "TBW" is a stereotype used in the media to make black women seem obnoxious, loud, ignorant, and rude. You see references of the "TBW" in your popular shows on BET. That being said Serena is the current best tennis player in the world, and I like her not because she is black, but of her talent.
@TVInformative Black or any color she is ugly and has to grow up. Get over the call and play. Actually she was getting her ass kicked before the call and after. She is also stupid. That was not the same umpire that screwed her last time. I hope they ban her from next years open.
Sure Serena was ott, but - contrary to what people keep saying - the reason she didn't get jacked out is NOT 'cause she is black, but 'cause she is a tennis star. Anyone familiar with the circuit will tell you that a ranked player like her can get away with murder. Try one of those outbursts as a qualifier (b or w) and see how quick you re back in the lockerroom.
So really it's just a case of someone with power (Serena ) abusing that power. Nothing to see here, go about your business.
Serena should be BANNED from professional sports. Do not forget she threatened to KILL a Asian line judge two years ago. She played the RACE CARD when she said the Umpire was a hater. She has some serious race issues when she is getting beat. SORE LOSER.
Don't forget her "don't look at me... I promise ya, don't look at me" comments. That I PROMISE YA thing, had she been white and I was the umpire, would have won her an eviction and forfeit right there.
But she's black... so it's okay.
Well, it's NOT okay. Just like so many blacks today, they know how to use race as their excuse to misbehave, then attack those that point out the misbehavior as racist haters.
Until Obama became President, I imagined we were past this...
Some of Serena's diatribe against the umpire (Eva Asderaki) during the next two changeovers:
"Aren't you the one who screwed me over last time here? Yeah, you are." (the 2009 umpire was Louise Engzell)
"A code violation because I expressed who I am? We're in America last I checked. Am I gonna get violated for a water? Really, don't even look at me. I promise you, don't look at me because I am not the one. Don't look my way." [...]
[...] "If you ever see me walking down the hall, walk the other way. Because you're out of control. Totally out of control. You're a hater, you're unattractive inside. Who would do such a thing. And I never complain. Wow."
What the hell does race or gender or skin color have to do with this? Compared to the abuse John McEnroe used to heap on the chair, Serena's comments were exceedingly polite.
Serena Williams is an utter disgrace. No amount of talent can counteract her appalling display of childishness & racism. She ought to be banned for life. Despicable behaviour. Oh how I laughed when she was beaten! :-)
@vania1013 You are a complete and utter idiot. You cutting out some eye holes in your pillow cases right now, are you? It's the 21st century already, time to start growing up a little.
@vania1013 And when you learn how to spell and use better grammar then maybe you will able to find a better job than working as a cashier in McDonalds.
To me it has nothing to do with race, but Serena is simply acting like a person who thinks that she can make people fear her. Nobody in tennis acts like this, except serena.
I love Serena, but these outbursts in public view are not acceptable. She does not control her anger well, regardless of the umpire's call. She acts like she is the first player to receive an unfair call - most live with it and move on. But not our Serena.
I understand your rational for posting these videos, but my question are you using controls to substantiate the responses. Most of these internet users are flakes and do not give any real honest contributions. Actually similar in my opinion to the emotional display that Serena had today. This is not science on any measure just a collection of ill aimed vitriol. I simply find it amusing to see the train wreck of comments, but I never take it seriously. That is just my opinion.
@paconot This is the first time, and probably last that I do a video like this. I was trying to directly ask the world via youtube what they thought about the situation. I usually ask people face to face of a specific topic regarding the black community and they give me answers based on the questions I provided. But I do believe any contribution whether negative or positive is still a contribution.
@paconot you're also a dyed in the wool black liberal that has emotional reaction to internet opinions that may differ from yours. glad of all your accomplishments and distinctions that you have enumerated to me. stereotypes are often earned and then poo-whoed and turned around creating a weak state of denial. you are probably not a typical black woman that doesn't mean that perception does not exist or wasn't partially earned. i find you tube a honest medium where cliche PC is tossed.
ps all those hippies and outdated black activist reciting some cliche bs there is no stereotypical balck woman stfu. cause we all know there is. quit giving us a community college lib-fag professors lecture.and you know who rags on that loud mouth.self absorbed ghetto french babynamin image the most? other black guys. true shit. live in reality people its so much clearer even when the truth hurts.LOL
@1986billyk WTF are you spewing? Me...100% Black American, African American female, however you feel to name it. Avid tennis player, MBA/JD, Own a small business, pay taxes, financially fit, great health, well traveled, active in community, mentor....and I am not in an exclusive club of black women or women in general for that matter. Last I heard Serena's issue was with the empire, so why are they're so many (white's?) on the internet with slurs? I do not have that answer but IMO racism..
@paconot Serena could/should have been hit with a restraining order, banishment from the sport or worse for telling the Asian lineswoman "I'm going to fucking kill you" 2 years ago during another match. But I get it, you are a proud upstanding black woman, who also happens to believe Kobe, O.J. and Tupac were innocent too right? Serena, like you, thinks white America is out to get her. Her behavior is despicable, that is what we are responding to, not her race. She CANNOT keep bullying officials
@Giggity0623 She claimed amnesia after Clister beat her down two years ago also after she threatened to kill the Asian lady line judge and she was ejected.
Serena was acting like Shaniqua from around the way today. Serena had the nerve to see when you see me don't look my way! Who does that?? Serena was off the hook today. It was embarassing to watch her attitude. She needs a check real quick real fast.
its not that it is stereotypical, but people need to stop defending her. She blew up 2 years ago and threatened the lineswoman (which was a good call, check the replay carefully) and now today, blowing up when she doesnt even know the rules. Tennis is supposed to be a classy game. Im not defending all the male players that have acted like idiots, but Serena is the only woman to my knowledge in years to act like this. She needs to be made an example of. Not a stereotypical, just a bitch!!!!
lucky tennis is a so called gentlemans sport if she was going off like that to an umpire in baseball or even a soccor ref she would've got run outta the game. i think players who go off the charts and make it personal get tossed. as far as tbw not really. she is from compton so she's gonna have a little hood up in her anyone that says or thinks different is just plain naieve.but by in large serena does try to be gracious and humble in light of her accomplishments.
Serena wasn't acting like a typical black woman, whatever the hell that means. She was, however, behaving like an asshole, and tennis has a ton of these throughout the history of the game. McEnroe, Nastase, Connors, and more recently Jennifer Capriati.
Judge her on the merits of her game, which despite this incident, is still otherwise solid/among the best.
So to answer your question Serena's actions were not justifiable and she was behaving like a ghetto black lady you would find on 44th and crenshaw. It was embarassing to watch, she needs an attitude check.
Black people need to realize Serena's actions and behavior was unsportsmanlike. She should have got kicked out the tournament. I'm tired of Black people defending Serena and using the got damn race card to say oh they just hate on Serena because she is black. I don't hate on Serena. I love her, but her attitude stinks.
@TheChocolatehippie Her behavior is so unlike anything ever seen before in tennis. McEnroe, who I dislike as an announcer , never even came close to the scope of Serena's comments. McEnroe's saying "Are you kidding me?" to a judge is nothing close to Serena saying to the Asian woman who called the foot fault, "I am going to fucking kill you" 2 years ago. For this, could argue that Serena should be banned from the sport or even sued in court. You cannot threaten someone's life. GO TO HELL SERENA
@TheChocolatehippie I agree with you- I play tennis and hate to see bad sportsmanship on the court- when Serena gets down in a match she typically blows. Hey you can be competitive and a fantastic athlete but to be gracious is more important- the better player won the ladies final.
look at all the nigger, ape, monkey comments on her vid. even blacks like me, who don't give a shit about tennis instinctively wanna defend her because of that.
@TheChocolatehippie AGREED!! I used to adore Serena because shes an awesome player and she's soooo FINE!! But her attitude just freakin KILLS it for me! Nothing worse than a chick with a stank attitude, black OR White!!
@TheChocolatehippie hey, im black and i think she should have been kicked out too. wether shes black, white or pink with yellow spots it doesnt excuse the fact that she acted like an unproffesional bitch
@shesheelegance I never called Serena typical. Truth be told i can't stand stereotypical ignorant no culture having black women. Serena is not one of them I agree. She's beautiful, talented, and a great role-model to young black girls who aspire to be tennis champs. The question im asking you is are Serena's actions justifiable or is she behaving like a tbw? (TBW is just a reference of a popular stereotype in American culture. )
She's the best woman player on WTA tour. She's won 13 grand slam titles. There's is nothing typical about Serena Williams. She's a Black woman yes, typical no.
@shesheelegance You need to read my description. Perhaps you are misreading things. I have already acknowledged Serena as the great player that she is. I also compared her to the great BJK of tennis.
First off, the chair got it right. Serena yelled while her opponent was trying to volley. That's an automatic point. Second, there is no, "typical black woman". Would you appreciate it if you were titled a, "typical white man, showing his racism", which you are, sir.
@treysdaddy08 Are you referring to me? Perhaps you should check out my channel and see what im all about. People tend to read things they wish to see. I'm simply asking was Serena behaving like the stereotype of a "Tbw" or were her actions justified. "the typical black woman" is a stereotype. I'm trying to explore the idea of this stereotype
@TVInformative Exlpore, you mean exploit. Don't hide behind the screen pretending to be objective. It is clear what you are trying to insight. People like you never surprise me but constantly disappoint. What a darn shame.
@paconot My channel is dedicated to exploring the stereotypes of black people and bringing them to the light and trying to fix them. I believe the black people are in a state of emergency. I'm not trying to exploit black woman because I am a black woman and so is my mother. Some people just can't handle the truth.
@TVInformative What is your own opinion? I think there are a lot of steriotypes outthere, but who has portrayed this incident as being "a typical black woman"(Youtube commenters excluded), and do you really think that it applies here?
@Admire I think Serena is the best American tennis player since BJK and currently in the top 3 womens tennis players. Serena is better then Stosur without a doubt. Serena just did not play as good as Sam stosur did during the match. bottom line. Most Black people will stand by a Black celeb whether they do wrong or right..Serena lost her cool once again and is trying to blame it on certain people being racist. I will not defend Serena's behavior because it was inappropriate.
@shesheelegance there is a stereotype of black women being angry and loud mouthed. OR were her actions justifiable? Yes thats what Im asking. I'm in no way calling Serena a TBW. I think Serena is a great athlete and my favorite tennis player. But a lot of people are saying Serena's actions were that of a tbw.
@shesheelegance the stereotype of black woman as being angry and loud and rude. I think that is what people associate Serena with. I'm asking is she living up to the stereotype or are her actions justified?
Actually, there are male players that are known for their consistent outburst on the court directed at the chair umpire and very rarely are they given a point penalty. What's up with that uh?
True, but thats at the chair umpire, not at a player trying to return a shot. You have numerous men and women that do it. Fed even did it at the 2009 US Open final.
That is so unfair for you to say a typical black woman in your title nobody said anything when the white players got on the upmpires for things. So for you to title it typical black woman in not right not all blacks act like that. even though I don't blame her for being pissed at the call !
@pablue87 How is it unfair. I'm asking a question about her actions. What should i changed the title to in your opinion. Is she portraying the stereotype of a typical angry black woman or is she not?
I believe the chair umpire should have called a let. For all you haters if you don't know what a let means your opinion about Serena does not matter. As for her being a typical Black woman. We are not typical nor monolitic, we don't all dress the same, speak the same, or desire the same things. But one thing we are who we are and proud of it.
@shesheelegance I think a let would have been appropriate but the rules of the game was for her to lose the point. The chair umpire made the correct call. Serena is a terrible roll model for this sport. I was surprised to see her so gracious to Sam Stosur after the match. It was quite out of character for her, but good to see for once when she loses.
@shesheelegance hey sista don't start handin out race cards just yet. you sink to the lowest level of discussion when you go that route. and using the word "haters" within the context of discussion is code for racist. quite frankly serena's behavior was appalling regardless of color. i feel it warrants dicsiplinary action. in any major sport she would have been tossed ,fined and maybe suspended for becoming abusive.
@shesheelegance Don't make the same mistake and label other people as haters.....I think Serena acts like a child who has been told that she can't have chocolate....Does that make me a hater? No....Serena acts wrong and she gets attacked for it....exactly like everybody else.
If anybody uses race in their critique of her, then im with you, but unless they do, I think she deserves the bad press after this display.
@shesheelegance I think you should know there are rules in tennis. The umpire administered a point violation instead of a let for the deliberate act of the opponent. Bellowing "Come on!!!" during a point is clearly a "deliberate act", then a point should be deducted.
always threatening people when she's losing, well it was a nice when her fat ass was running out of the court trying to catch Stosur's forehand return winner on match point
She thinks the whole world has it in for her Just because she is an accomplished black woman. I think she needs less muscles and more grace and elegance.
Serena is pathetic! When you look back at the way she acted today ask yourself this...would Steffi Graf, Monica Seles or even Venus Williams EVER act like this???!! She is pathetic and is incredibly ungrateful for what the sport has given her.
@MikeyMacky How is she pathetic? She has every right to over react. They treat her bad because she is black! there is not typical black woman acting! she's just angry!
@MegaVampireDog She acted like a wild animal! That's the problem. She should learn to control her emotions. She broke a rule and was fined for it. She should admit she was wrong and move on. She went on and on and on for many changeovers giving the chair umpire shit. She is crazy and you shouldn't condone this behavior. Kids look up to her. It has nothing to do with the fact that she is black, it has everything to do with the fact that she can't control her emotions and is discrespectful.
Don't care if she's black, purple, or green. She's a down right bitch on court. Sure, she's a great athlete but when you accomplish so much, it's also important to have grace. ex. Federer. Race has nothing to do with her attitude on court.

She isn't the first player to do this, if a white player does something like this people will just say' oh they have there moments' She doesn't always act like this, I agree what she did was wrong but its not because she's black.
smada9711 5 months ago
She acted like a spoiled brat. Race has nothing to do with it. She should be ashamed of her outbursts. The ref was correct with her call. She broke the rules and was called out on it. End of story.

If you're going to call Serena Williams a typical angry black woman, you should call John McEnroe a typical angry white man. Who doesn't get angry during a tennis match?!
MishuTaste 5 months ago
In America does anyone ever use the description "typical white person"?
GUEROMEXICANO831 5 months ago
@GUEROMEXICANO831
Obama plays race cards.
bobbyjwoodruff 5 months ago
@bobbyjwoodruff And yet someone else who blames everything on Obama. I dont care much for him to be honest, but how did he "divide America"? If anything, America has shown its true colors after his election with its Birther movement, the Tea Party, a now widely accepted Islamophobia, amongst other bigoted views.
Its all about race nowadays, and WHITES are the ones to bring it up in the first place, more often than not. Today, they claim to be the victim. Isn't that also pulling the race card?
GUEROMEXICANO831 5 months ago
@GUEROMEXICANO831
And yes, that means when Serena said to the ref that she was a "hater", that could have only one meaning: she was saying the ref was a racist.
bobbyjwoodruff 5 months ago
@GUEROMEXICANO831

All game players have this attitude so no need for those racist slurs.

babsmania85 5 months ago
@babsmania85
No, no. See, now you're being the racist.
She was angry not because of the call, but because of the woman that called it. The woman that called the penalty was supposedly someone Serena recognized before. The unprofessional, childish rant she gave in several video clips adds to the attention she's been getting.
lysolbombs470 5 months ago
Further more, If I were to say that black men have huge dicks, that would be O.K. or cool. Because of the truth of the matter. However, to say this would be no less racist than to say that black people eat a lot of fried chicken. "Ooh, dude watch it!".. you say. It's not true? Have you been to Memphis. Tell me black people don't like fried chicken. Do other people like chicken? Sure. I do. Do people of other color have large junk? Sure. Again I do. But not as big as a black dudes.
vickstor35 5 months ago
You can't say that every stereotype doesn't have just a little truth in it... If I were to say Mexicans don't drive vans, that would be silly and obviously not true. But to say Mexicans drive vans would be a stereotype, and not even funny. It doesn't have to do with race. It has to do with popular traits within a race or group of people. Why Mexicans drive vans is another question. An answer may be that there is an economic reason for it. Like a black man stealing a watermelon.

Lol when do angry black women say thats totally not cool. obviously you who made this is white and dumb lol aswell as not an athlete who plays in highly competitive games. val21491 5 months ago
TVInformative 5 months ago
@TVInformative That's because people are stupid. Noone says she is a representative of all black woman when she wins something, or do something good. When a white person do something terrible noone say that he/she ir representing all white persons. God, you americans have to stop with this race thing all the time. For you, everything must end in a race discussion. Bottom line: She was angry and said stupid things, like everyone.

Serena is a talented athlete but that outburst was not appropriate. Who knows what motivated her to do that, maybe the pressure got her. On the otherhand she usually conducts herself well but the only images you see give her a negative portrayal.

Nothing to see here, go about your business.

cyberian2007 5 months ago 2
@cyberian2007

Don't look my way." [...]
jsparrow615 5 months ago 2
Serena added:
[...] "If you ever see me walking down the hall, walk the other way. Because you're out of control. Totally out of control. You're a hater, you're unattractive inside. Who would do such a thing. And I never complain. Wow."
jsparrow615 5 months ago

I understand your rational for posting these videos, but my question are you using controls to substantiate the responses. Most of these internet users are flakes and do not give any real honest contributions. Actually similar in my opinion to the emotional display that Serena had today. @paconot This is the first time, and probably last that I do a video like this. I was trying to directly ask the world via youtube what they thought about the situation. But I do believe any contribution whether negative or positive is still a contribution.

its not that it is stereotypical, but people need to stop defending her. Serena wasn't acting like a typical black woman, whatever the hell that means. She was, however, behaving like an asshole, and tennis has a ton of these throughout the history of the game. McEnroe, Nastase, Connors, and more recently Jennifer Capriati.

TheChocolatehippie 5 months ago 24
@TheChocolatehippie Her behavior is so unlike anything ever seen before in tennis. McEnroe, who I dislike as an announcer , never even came close to the scope of Serena's comments. McEnroe's saying "Are you kidding me?" to a judge is nothing close to Serena saying to the Asian woman who called the foot fault, "I am going to fucking kill you" 2 years ago. For this, could argue that Serena should be banned from the sport or even sued in court. You cannot threaten someone's life. GO TO HELL SERENA
1RonBurgundy1 5 months ago

She's beautiful, talented, and a great role-model to young black girls who aspire to be tennis champs. The question im asking you is are Serena's actions justifiable or is she behaving like a tbw? (TBW is just a reference of a popular stereotype in American culture. )

I will not defend Serena's behavior because it was inappropriate.

shesheelegance 5 months ago
@shesheelegance there is a stereotype of black women being angry and loud mouthed. OR were her actions justifiable? Yes thats what Im asking. I'm in no way calling Serena a TBW. I believe the chair umpire should have called a let. For all you haters if you don't know what a let means your opinion about Serena does not matter. As for her being a typical Black woman.
Mzee1084 5 months ago
@shesheelegance hey sista don't start handin out race cards just yet. you sink to the lowest level of discussion when you go that route. and using the word "haters" within the context of discussion is code for racist. quite frankly serena's behavior was appalling regardless of color. i feel it warrants dicsiplinary action. in any major sport she would have been tossed ,fined and maybe suspended for becoming abusive.

She thinks the whole world has it in for her Just because she is an accomplished black woman. I think she needs less muscles and more grace and elegance.

So her whole tennis life is riding on this one act?

It wasn't justifiable. She broke a rule any junior tennis player knows, and she's a pro so she knows better

Talk to some of the children she has donated time and money too and you will see real class

Classless act. I've said it for years. I'm right and I'm happy
