"how does parkour fit in?" asks team pktk. Well, that is like asking hoes does shooting a ball a couple of meters away in an equal sized ring hole to acquire points fit in with our lifestyle. Parkour is even more practical than basketball. It can be applied to situations where movement is extremely needed. Like if you are being chased by dangerous and unwanted people. Parkour would be harder to explain by words. It takes actions and applications to understand it.

I love BIG and Bjarke is a beast but I think there is a lot being missed here. If you look at the BIG approach to design there are a lot of similarities with parkour and yet he continually fails to spot them. Talks at length about the impact and implications of it yet fails to draw the obvious parallel between free running and his own work.

We need a Canadian traceur here! I know good ones you can find in Parkour British Columbia (PKBC), Winnipeg Parkour (WPK), and Parkour Toronto (PKTO).

There are other traceurs in other provinces, but I personally know the peeps in the 3 Canadian parkour groups I just mentioned.

Anyways, this video was well done. I like how they discussed the ideology and this whole philosophy thing. There is definitely a movement going on.

David Belle is the accepted founder of the movement of parkour, but not physical movement that's been around for eons, but the social cultural movement that is starting to take place. Its the enlightenment period of movement in my eyes.
