I woke up this morning at 6 after stretching up to 5/8ths yesterday, and it was swollen. I removed the metal tunnel and it started pouring blood. I have completely removed any plug but im wondering what the heck is going on and will this prevent it from healing properly in the future

Um hey. I have a 0 gauge and i didn't get a blowout, but my second gauge developed like a huge cyst around from the back of my ear. I a stupid moment i decided to get rid of it, so i cut it off. Um. I had a question if you had any advice on healing. I cut it off a week ago but there's about 1 cm in circumference that's like...flesh? The cyst/blowout was about 1/2 inch thick. It's not really scabbing and everyday if i don't put a bandaid on it i wake up with sticky stuff in my hair from my cut.
if its a easy strech, and the earring goes in easy, that cant possibly be bad, or because you ripped. cause if you do it correctly and your patient. itll be easy and it wont hurt.
Ive recently stretched my ear to 3/4 and one ear is fine an the other is super dry and it smells horrible and it has sticky juices in it and it made like half of my hold ear super dry and crusty like beef jerky and idk what to do any help??
@martygangsta625 Hmm. I suggest using vitamin E Oil on your ears. That may help with the dryness. But as for the sticky juices, not really sure :/ Just try vitamin E Oil for a bit. If that doesn't work, then perhaps downsize? :o

when I stretch my ear I get a sore red ear, but after wearing the stretcher for a few hours it has that irritating heat, then after i sleep with it in its totally normal. Sometimes its not a PROBLEM as such its just your body reacting to pain
Another note: silicone might eventually irritate you as the coating wears off. They're my favorite because I can take naps, not have to worry about impact damage (I'm kind of clutzy...) if I hit my ear, but it started to happen. So, I took them out, oiled up the silicone plugs AND my ears, and gave it a try. It helped out quite a bit.
So i went straight from 1mm to 6mm my ears were pretty fucked, 2 blowouts. Easily fixable at that size if anyone else has the problem, take them out as soon as you realise! wash with salt water morning and night and put antiseptc cream on for a week or 2 till they scab, once they healed both blowouts were gone. Only downside is the holes will fully heal this way.
hey i put my 5 mm taper in and twisted it as i put it in to prevent tearing and blowouts but when i took it out the next day it was bleeding a fair bit not too much though i cant see a tear, my the hole is quite red though is it essential to downsize ??
@XxangelofchoasXx You can use vitamin E oil, or if you don't have any specific oils for stretched ears and piercings another very good thing to use & another thing that moisturizes your ears and makes them really thick and healthy is olive oil. :)
i ripped my ears at 2 gauge wooooooottt. then i had to put the 4s back in and my cousin ripped 1 out later that day. so i had to put 6s in. i hated my life for a while i went from 2 gauge to 6 gauge in like 24 hours. but i put my 2 guage back in. they are really good at the momment
if your ears start to smell you can soak them in warm sea salt water for about 15 mintues or so and message your ears with it as well and it takes the smell away. It works wonders for me :]
@jumpYOURGAY Only when you switches to different gauges. They all smell, thats why you have to clean them. Now the intesity of the smell varies and mine dont smell alot. But you do have to clean them. If you cant keep up with the personal care for proparly stretching your ears, dont even bother getting them.
I got my ears pierced 4 weeks ago with a 20 gauge needle. Im now at a 6. My ears don't have scar tissue or anything but on my right ear above the gold there's like half a bb inside my ear... any idea what that is? A tattoo shop checked them out and they said it'll go away but it hasn't and im kinda worried! But other than that bump there healthy no rips or tears or anything!

@evildevil9991 how big was your size before you stretched? and what size is it now? im not sure what 2.5 means exactly. if it was ripped, it would bleed, a BIT of blood isn't too bad, because i know i got a bit of blood just removing and putting in my plugs before they were done healing. i would keep them in until they are done healing

@chris74018 your ears will be sore for a while give it a couple more weeks. some sizes will cause it to be more soar then others. clean it every other day not 2 times a day because that can make your ear raw and make it soar. also if you have a little bit of crust in your ear it will hurt. so when ou wake up twist them and repeatedly twist them about 4 or 5 times a day so the crust breaks off and stays out of the lobe

I just stretched to a 00 last night, it went in pretty easy and wasn't too painful, just a tiny bit. But before I went to bed, (3-4 hours after stretching) My ear started hurting a bit. It's also my 'stubborn' ear. It's a little swollen today, not too intense but it's still swollen and it hurts a bit. I can't downsize because I lost my 0 jewelry, is there anything I could do to just calm down the swelling a bit? I already had ice on it twice.

I can admit that I'm not an expert by any means. Still, bleeding while stretching = not good. Ask any serious piercer, or those that've stretched beyond 30 mm

What's your "goal size", if you have any? If you're aiming for 0G, 00G or bigger than 00, I think that you won't be able to make it without also having your lobes thinned out from all the stress (+ rips) put on them. Some stretch so fast that even if it doesn't bleed the lobe gets thinned out to the point where it snaps one day...
Let your ear rest; down-size - or at THE VERY LEAST stop stretching any further - and wait half a year. Tissue needs regeneration
so my first stretch i jumped from 16 and a 8 gauge i was told by a piercing place that it was ok to do so. took me about 2 hours to get it all that way in did not get a blow out when i took the taper out few days later it was bleeding not alot just alittle week later it looked fine month later i jumped one more size with no pain at all or blood i was just wonder if what did was rip alittle and got lucky or is my ear going to always be stretched because i ripped it

It could be a reaction to whatever jewelry you wear while healing between stretches... or something physiological (small lobes, thin lobes/tissue, not enough blood circulating (massaging could help) etc...)
i went from a 2mm to a 4mm and my ear wasnt really painfull, but when i took the taper out my ear bled and i dont mean like just a few spots of blood, it stopped shortly after but my ear is inflamed and hot.. what should i do?

@SkatesAreKool swelling is natural when stretching. your ear would've went down within a few hours, if not less. since it scabbed over, you should wait for your ear to fully heal before stretching your lobe again.

I always strech with silicone but this time i had to take it out it's so swollen and it bleeds so i put my metal 5/8 back in

@jumpYOURGAY Only when you switches to different gauges. They all smell, thats why you have to clean them. Now the intesity of the smell varies and mine dont smell alot. But you do have to clean them. If you cant keep up with the personal care for proparly stretching your ears, dont even bother getting them.

I got my ears pierced 4 weeks ago with a 20 gauge needle. Im now at a 6. My ears don't have scar tissue or anything but on my right ear above the gold there's like half a bb inside my ear... any idea what that is? A tattoo shop checked them out and they said it'll go away but it hasn't and im kinda worried! But other than that bump there healthy no rips or tears or anything!

@evildevil9991 how big was your size before you stretched? and what size is it now? im not sure what 2.5 means exactly. if it was ripped, it would bleed, a BIT of blood isn't too bad, because i know i got a bit of blood just removing and putting in my plugs before they were done healing. i would keep them in until they are done healing

A really good way to get rid of the smell is to cover your ear in tea tree oil after cleaning it& the jewelry. :)

@HockeyDiane I'm going to ignore your condescension and simply say that sometimes with a split tongue it can take a little while for the person to train their tongue to cooperate. Once that is achieved there is virtually no difference. (However it is worth noting that the military requires split tongue reversals which virtually guarantee a lisp; oh,the irony.) Also, I'm wondering if you knew her/heard her talk before her modifications? She could very well have a small lisp from childhood.

@chris74018 your ears will be sore for a while give it a couple more weeks. some sizes will cause it to be more soar then others. clean it every other day not 2 times a day because that can make your ear raw and make it soar. also if you have a little bit of crust in your ear it will hurt. so when ou wake up twist them and repeatedly twist them about 4 or 5 times a day so the crust breaks off and stays out of the lobe

i strectched my 4g to a 2 and after 2 days i wanted to put a dobble flaired silicone flesh plug thingy to like cover them and they strated bleeding and now im back to an 8g ? does this mean my ears r rekjecting them or should i let it heal and continue to stretch???

I just stretched to a 00 last night, it went in pretty easy and wasn't too painful, just a tiny bit. But before I went to bed, (3-4 hours after stretching) My ear started hurting a bit. It's also my 'stubborn' ear. It's a little swollen today, not too intense but it's still swollen and it hurts a bit. I can't downsize because I lost my 0 jewelry, is there anything I could do to just calm down the swelling a bit? I already had ice on it twice.

@FlyBoii52 that's going to happen. but a 6 to a 2 is a big jump. yesterday I went from a 2 to a 00. my "reasoning" was that my ears had been a 0 before. That and I didn't want to pay for two sets. My ears are swollen like crazy but no bleeding or puss build up (as of yet anyway) anyone got a tip on getting the swelling down?

i peirced my left ear with a 2mm blunt taper now after 6 weeks i have 00g plugs and its fine and healed nicely. i peirced my right ear at a studio about 3 weeks ago and im at 6mm. they both hurts like hell, bled a lot and scabbed but its worth it.

What's your "goal size", if you have any? If you're aiming for 0G, 00G or bigger than 00, I think that you won't be able to make it without also having your lobes thinned out from all the stress (+ rips) put on them. Some stretch so fast that even if it doesn't bleed the lobe gets thinned out to the point where it snaps one day...
Let your ear rest; down-size - or at THE VERY LEAST stop stretching any further - and wait half a year. Tissue needs regeneration

so my first stretch i jumped from 16 and a 8 gauge i was told by a piercing place that it was ok to do so. took me about 2 hours to get it all that way in did not get a blow out when i took the taper out few days later it was bleeding not alot just alittle week later it looked fine month later i jumped one more size with no pain at all or blood i was just wonder if what did was rip alittle and got lucky or is my ear going to always be stretched because i ripped it

QUESTION-the first time i stretched my ears, it took me 4 years to get from a normal size to 2 because my ears take a lonngg time to heal in between sizes, but no matter how long i wait they don't react well to a new size, i get like.. a big yellow scab over my entire ear lobe, but there'll be nothing on the plug itself. i let my ears shrink back after i got to 2 because it was just a pain in the ass to deal with, i started again recently, and theyre doing the same thing. what is this?

It could be a reaction to whatever jewelry you wear while healing between stretches... or something physiological (small lobes, thin lobes/tissue, not enough blood circulating (massaging could help) etc...)

i went from a 2mm to a 4mm and my ear wasnt really painfull, but when i took the taper out my ear bled and i dont mean like just a few spots of blood, it stopped shortly after but my ear is inflamed and hot.. what should i do?

@SkatesAreKool swelling is natural when stretching. your ear would've went down within a few hours, if not less. since it scabbed over, you should wait for your ear to fully heal before stretching your lobe again.
