What a sweetheart! Amazing interview... Can't believe I haven't come accross this little gem before. Typical Bette rumaging around for cigarettes! The only thing that spoiled it was her sour-faced daughter - ick!

@FighterAttacks It sounded like atleast in some parts they were saying "Bett" instead of "Bette"- It seems to me me that the French habitually leave out certain sounds in words. But that's just what I think! :D

Vowels on the ends of words are not typically pronounced in French except in song. So they are saying "Bette" but not pronouncing the "e" at the end.

Obviously she understands French very well. I'm intrigued by this video because I didn't know she could understand French and indeed speak it in a few sentences. Love this interview. Wonderful. Thanks.

SHe's excellent! I love how she says some french words in her sentences.
It's fun the pronunciation of her name in french. I'm french, and once, I talked about her with my grand mother, and say Bette Davis. She said "Who is it?", I explain and she said " Oh, you mean "Bet Davis" like the guy said^^

@tyjeffries Yes I know that, but her name comes from "La cousine Bette" which is French, so it should be said "Bet"!

@kikiladoucette Perhaps in France it may be so...spelling changes aside she was christened ELizabeth and nicknamed Betty...and this is her name. ...so it should be pronounced correctly no matter the spelling. or the country...She HATED being called Bet by all accounts.

God! How can you not love her? So talented. So wise. So honest. Today's actresses should really listen to what she has to say and study how she conducted her career and her fame. I miss her so much.
