  • My buddy Bob Boomsma, featured in this video, died of prostate cancer the day before Thanksgiving 2010. He was only 54.

  • Awesome scenery!

  • I just did a switch job at riddle the other day!- Words can't express...

  • @RustBeltRailroad Yeah, great BIG layout! I was fortunate to have operated on the layout, twice. My buddy Boomer (Bob) in the video is not doing well. He's currently battling stage 4 prostate cancer.

  • wow ive got an article about this layout from the 80s! Excellent to see it still running.

  • cool layout

  • How do I get to visit Dr Chubb;s layout ?

I just moved to Michigan and I am about an hour south of Grand Rapids

  • I notice the layout has signaling. Is it CTC?

    Great video.

  • Chubb uses his own commercially available system the "CMRI" (computer model railroad interface) to run the signals and interface all his CTC boards. It has been described in detail in Model Railroader magazine. I also use the system on my home layout. Works great!

  • Huh?!?!

  • A little slow in some parts, but the first thing I was thinking was put a camera on the train, just like amrap1 said, that'd be really cool.

  • Very nice video. Have you ever thought about putting a camera on the train? Should be a great view.

  • This may have been a one-time operations opportunity for Boomer and me. Since it's not my layout, I doubt that I'd install a camera.

  • Heh I was just reading about the SVOS today in Scale Rails

  • Nope, I have no MR affiliation. I'm just an average modeler and media afficianado.

  • you also took the Famous "John alean' and named a bridge after him? you're GREAT!

  • Hay,"I Know You",you're from Model railroader magazine!lol
