This album achieved gold status in one country which was Canada. Iggy somehow consistently maintained some sort of magnetism North of the 49th parallel. I remember well purchasing this album at "Sam the Records Man" and thinking "wow, this is real cool music" after the first listening session.

It also managed to mature extremely well with time. Iggy will leave a heck of a legacy behind. The word "Originality" will be often used when discribing his material.

@ninevette -- yeah, according to wikipedia even Iggy said (in a biography) that he didn't care for this album bc it was so commercial & that it was "a Bowie album in all but name" (Bowie produced & wrote many of the songs, some were reportedly rejects or leftovers from a earlier Bowie album.)

I love Iggy & his Stooges stuff but this album is still pretty fantastic and this is the best song on it. Steven Jones on guitar solo, too!!

I was a camera assistant on this music video. Julian Temple was the director.We shot it in various locations down in Long Beach. Julian was the king of the long takes. Everything had to be choreographed with the steadycam operator to make it all work. Was a real killer in focus pulling. Most fun for me was when we were shooting at nite with the oil refinery in the background and they brought the heilcopter in to light up Iggy performing. Was pretty electric when his body went into hyperdrive!

@venturedp I'm just curious venture, at the end there of the video where he's climbing up the huge metal wrecking balls, is that the same area where the Who shot the film "Tommy"? I heard they filmed near Long Beach, and it looks like the set from the end of "Tommy". Thanks

I believe Tommy was shot in England, ...Long Beach being south of Los Angeles by about 45 minutes....and the 'wrecking balls" are actually "Floats" used in the ocean to hold markers or to denote that there are shallow rocks under water....I know they are big....but think of the size of the ships passing by and one having to steer clear of those...good question though! and glad to clarify!
