The english version of this song sounds lame, blame it a bit on the lyrics, but the Japanese version is better sang., we know the lyrics are the same.
That's the exact opposite of, namely, The Frog Twist: the english lyrics are cool, and it sounds way better than the japanese version.
It's not about the entire game, just some itty-bitty details that's nice to compare between the JP and US versions.
@TheMewelli Me too! lol. Rhythm Rally was tough too but I got the hang of that one (I counted to 3 haha) but yeah the heads are impossible! I dont see how im ever going to beat the remix!
.... no it isnt. the only real similarity is that they both are for the ds, and that they are rhythm based. other than that, nothing is the same. but is EBA good? i havent tried it.
Why do people make such a big deal about the English version? I think it sounds fine...it's funny and catchy just like it's *suppose* to be. I love Japan too but I'm not constantly hanging on its balls. All you people complaining about the English version need to grow up. For anybody wanting to get this game go ahead and get the English version it's pretty much the EXACT same thing as the Japanese version.
Just because you guys don't understand it doesn't make it any less cheesy. Sure, the vocalist has a cute voice but so does the one in the English version.
I almost passed on this game simply because the English vocals were terribly done in this minigame, but then I decided it wasn't worth skipping it just because of one thing, so I'll probably pick it up soon.
Lefties rule! About 97% of my school is right handed, so I feel pretty special:D
Plus, I tried the English version, if you haven't bought it yet, don't! Import the Japanese version. Not only are all the vocal songs terribly dubbed, they're slightly slower, making the game more difficult!
Honestly, I haven't noticed any difference in the tempo between the Japanese and US versions of the game. (Though all I have to go by is these videos for the JP version)
The main problem is "The Dazzles." After playing the Japanese version, I played the exact same thing on the English version. On the Japanese version, I never failed to get Perfect, but on the English version, I had a much more difficult time.
And the airboarder game is the same...Well anyways, that's what I noticed, maybe I can do an official check and find out:D
man, I got this game yesterday and I beat this level.. The thing I hated most about it was the girls singing voice in the english version..Its so bland.

Now the idol song could have been more energetic (they should have gotten Emily McIntosh the Brawl Ashley singer) but I heard the other songs were handled better via ROM leak.
There is no NEED to localize it...At all. Make the instructions in English but leave the rest alone.
Their mass market IS Japan...NOT the US. In fact they ship more product to other countries than they do the US...When asked why they stated...The US market and it's economy is not as strong.
Look games for game cube and DS and GBA have used gibberish in their language and songs before and they sold just fine. So why not use the original language for this? it will just sound like gibberish.
"Their mass market IS Japan" Ummm, no. The videogame industry is actually slowing down there if you haven't noticed. Also that only applies for games released in Japan.
This is a finished product that the central headquarters in Japan found it appropriate to bring to the West (starting with the US). The mass market is MUCH bigger in this territory therefore it's going to be localized. Dubbing the songs in these games is nothing new, just look at Gitaroo Man and Bust-A-Groove.
Again. Watch the video...Are you telling me that when you hear the phrase, "Nani nani como nay" That you would be lost?
I mean it's pretty simple stuff and the fact that they feel they need to change it is kinda insulting. "Oh those pesky American/Canadian/Europeans be too stoopid to figures out the scary scary non English."
The phrase is "Nani nani kamo ne (なに なに かも ね)" Great jorb on the spelling. If you can't understand that this is a product aimed at a mass market that likely wants things to strike close to home then it's no use getting the message to someone that can't even get their Japanese phonetics right.
lol you got me cheif I don't read and speak Japanese...It's amazing to me that someone that DOES or at least is pretentious enough about it enough to correct someone...Thinks it unreasonable to keep the original version out of respect to the artist and creators of the game.
Do you realize you are trying to insult a guy who thinks the original language should go untouched...by making fun of the fact that I butchered the original language? Oh irony will you ever not be poetically just?
I love it when people like you that act like vandals dropped the biggest sack of manure on the Cistine Chapel just because a product is adapted for a different region. Hate to break it to you, but if you haven't realized that all game development houses and anime studios primarily function as a business then maybe you should be refreshed.
You have a lot of misconceptions here. First, NOA DID plan to leave the Japanese voice as an option but couldn't due to memory restraints. Second, you'd be surprised how involved the Japanese producers are in the localization of their products these days even in english dubs.
Here's a bullet that will really sting, TSUNKU the producer of the game SUPERVISED and APPROVED of the English language version, word has it he even picked the vocalists as the recording was done in Japan.
And that business is EVER evolving my friend. In the 80's They made sure to leave out ALL references to Japanese culture in Gatchaman, Voltron, Speed Racer. Even Pokemon. Then the BUSINESS of translation decided to keep it as close to the original as possible since THATS WHAT THE FANS WANT. Their audience are made up of people that want it as pure as the original as possible. They know it and they do their best to it...But in the VG industry they still need to make that leap.
The anime dubbing industry evolved because their market is solely fans. The exception to the rule of course would be 4Kids or any company that knows they're pushing a product to a bigger audience, it sucks but it's understandable. Nintendo's not trying to market the game to just the fans that played the GBA game or imported the Japanese version.
They have to introduce the game to "new" audiences most which may not be too keen on Japanese. THAT'S what I mean by business
That doesn't mean that I CAN'T have a preference for the original does it? This ALL started because I don't agree with Nintendo's decision to change the original. So I stated I would probably buy the Japanese version. Then I get Corporate apologists like you defending the change then being told "take the game for what it is...crying etc. " I wasn't crying. I was stating that I will buy the version I WANT. YOU are the one that can't accept MY decision...Since it doesn't match YOUR decision.
That is all sorts of awesome!!!! So to insult me for my spelling of Japanese words I don't know...You misspell a word IN THE VERY SENTENCE used to insult my misspelling of words I don't know.
That TOTALLY makes my day!!!! Thank you for the laughs KeijiKG
"That is all sorts of awesome!!!! So to insult me for my spelling of Japanese words I don't know...You misspell a word IN THE VERY SENTENCE used to insult my misspelling of words I don't know" It's called "irony". The word was INTENTIONALLY misspelled (I use FireFox, which usually prompts spell checking) for comedic value showing consistency with YOUR spelling error. Of course I didn't think that kind of retaliation would translate outside the US or Canada regions. :I
suuuuuure you did. You do not have a point KeijiKG. If you will recall I said, "Oh those pesky American/Canadian/Europeans be too stoopid to figures out the scary scary non English" Nintendo's attitude is what I have a problem with. THEY feel the need to change the original as if we can't handle it. Maybe firefox will one day have a version that breaks down reading comprehension for you...Until then I will just have to tolerate your feeble attempts as is.
"suuuuuure you did" Yes, I did. Sorry if you didn't get the irony. It's one thing to be butthurt, but don't go delusional on me.
You may as well call Enix and Koei assholes for having English versions of songs on their rhythm games. It's really nothing new to have songs dubbed. You're acting like this is only a Nintendo thing when other companies more Japanese than NOA have done the same. The deed is done, take the game for what it is and save the crying for the nursery.
I love how intelligent you THINK you are...Seriously, your ego and replies are making me laugh...Please keep them coming...This is starting out to be such a great day.
So if other companies do the same...Don't expect more from any of them? No one should question the status quo amirite comrade? No one should have an opinion or preference that is against the corporations will?
Eh, Beyonce is pretty damn good. You didn't like the song, but you have got to admit that the vocals were amazing. Or try listening to her song called "Listen." That one is a good example of her vocal range.
The only thing that keeps me from wanting to get the Japanese version is the menus. I bought the Japanese versions of Taiko no tatsujin 1 and 7 for the DS. The menus are easily navigated.
The menu navigation for this looks very daunting and I have two kids :/
plus I prepaid at gamestop for my reserve thinking Nintendo was past this whole "Make it English so the stupid Americans will buy out product." phase in their marketing.
Ah, I love this game! It took a long time before I figured out how to play the game with the monkeys. I just should have paid attention to the lyrics.
The english version of this song sounds lame, blame it a bit on the lyrics, but the Japanese version is better sang., we know the lyrics are the same.

what does "myuna" mean and whats this song called?
Lolanimationcrew 2 years ago
'ムニャ(Munya)' is a murmuring onomatopoeia.
In Japan, There's no typical spelling words like 'hocus pocus'.
The original title of this song is 'ドキッ! こういうのが恋なの?'.
'ドキッ' is a thrilling onomatopoeia.
'こういうのが恋なの?' means 'Is this love?'
A47A47 2 years ago
doki (ドキッ)can also mean the onomanopea for heartbeat. doki doki (thump thump) Ive heard it used multiple times as that.
slopeslider90 2 years ago
Because of that, I think it can also imply anxiety.

Mootaku 2 years ago
"Their mass market IS Japan" Ummm, no. The videogame industry is actually slowing down there if you haven't noticed. Also that only applies for games released in Japan.
This is a finished product that the central headquarters in Japan found it appropriate to bring to the West (starting with the US). The mass market is MUCH bigger in this territory therefore it's going to be localized. Dubbing the songs in these games is nothing new, just look at Gitaroo Man and Bust-A-Groove.
KeijiKG 2 years ago

Mootaku 2 years ago

Mootaku 2 years ago

Mootaku 2 years ago
The anime dubbing industry evolved because their market is solely fans. The exception to the rule of course would be 4Kids or any company that knows they're pushing a product to a bigger audience, it sucks but it's understandable. Nintendo's not trying to market the game to just the fans that played the GBA game or imported the Japanese version.
They have to introduce the game to "new" audiences most which may not be too keen on Japanese. THAT'S what I mean by business
KeijiKG 2 years ago
That doesn't mean that I CAN'T have a preference for the original does it? This ALL started because I don't agree with Nintendo's decision to change the original. So I stated I would probably buy the Japanese version. Then I get Corporate apologists like you defending the change then being told "take the game for what it is...crying etc. " I wasn't crying. I was stating that I will buy the version I WANT. YOU are the one that can't accept MY decision...Since it doesn't match YOUR decision.

you actually wrote, "Great jorb on the spelling."

Mootaku 2 years ago
"suuuuuure you did" Yes, I did. Sorry if you didn't get the irony. It's one thing to be butthurt, but don't go delusional on me.
You may as well call Enix and Koei assholes for having English versions of songs on their rhythm games. It's really nothing new to have songs dubbed. You're acting like this is only a Nintendo thing when other companies more Japanese than NOA have done the same. The deed is done, take the game for what it is and save the crying for the nursery.
KeijiKG 2 years ago
I love how intelligent you THINK you are...Seriously, your ego and replies are making me laugh...Please keep them coming...This is starting out to be such a great day.
So if other companies do the same...Don't expect more from any of them? No one should question the status quo amirite comrade? No one should have an opinion or preference that is against the corporations will?

Eh, Beyonce is pretty damn good. You didn't like the song, but you have got to admit that the vocals were amazing. Or try listening to her song called "Listen." That one is a good example of her vocal range.

The woman has a good voice, but her songs are terrible! If I were a boy is insulting and redonkulous!
Shoulda put a ring on it? Give me break. I don't like Beyonce for the lyrics and songs she sings...She does have a great voice though.

In reply to your comment, Mootaku; the music will indeed be the same.
However, there are some horrible English dubs for the songs. Have a look on IGN for Rhythm Heaven, and watch some videos of them there.
Japanese version forever!

The only thing that keeps me from wanting to get the Japanese version is the menus. I bought the Japanese versions of Taiko no tatsujin 1 and 7 for the DS. The menus are easily navigated.
The menu navigation for this looks very daunting and I have two kids :/
plus I prepaid at gamestop for my reserve thinking Nintendo was past this whole "Make it English so the stupid Americans will buy out product." phase in their marketing.

anyone else think this game was the result of a crack-induced hallucination? Because I do.
and it looks awesome!

Ah, I love this game! It took a long time before I figured out how to play the game with the monkeys. I just should have paid attention to the lyrics.

I wonder how they'll do this for the US version. I hope they keep the japanese singing in it with a language choosing option.

I wonder if they'll even have a US version ^^;;
innogal 3 years ago
They are localizing it
Its already been announced :/
Quiz112 3 years ago 5
ah, I didn't know that.
In that case, it'll be hard to tell. Not like I'm going to buy the English version, I'm fine with Japanese xD
