That's great! Our macaws seem to test everyone that comes to our house. They will act like they are going to bite them. If my family acts like they are afraid, the birds get worse but if my family acts like they are not afraid, the birds stop. So my advice is to take it slow and don't let him think that you are afraid. Good Luck and congratulations!
Thanks! There are some words that Jack understands like eat, want more, hot, give me a kiss, bye bye, step up and get back up there. He is very smart. I don't think he knows what he is saying when he says here kitty kitty or bark like a dog cause we don't have a cat or dog. lol

We got him from a family who didn't realize what they were getting themselves into! He's like a 2 year old with pliers and an air horn. We love him though :)

Hi,we found Jack at a pet shop in Ohio 1 1/2 years ago and fell in love. The shop owner said that he could say about 10 different things. We were shocked everyday when he said something different! We counted over 70 words at that time. I don't know how the previous owners taught him to talk but he says what he wants when he wants.lol We have another blue and gold and she only says about 15 single words. She hears the same thing as Jack, so it must just depend on the bird. Thanks so much Tammy

He was an elderly man and he had a stroke, he also had to give up a scarlet, but jack was the only one there when we got him. I wish i could have got them both.We bought another bng for a buddy for him. He is our baby.

Well he is certainly a beautiful talking macaw and i know how much time and effort you have to put into gaining there confidence etc, as i have a lovely girlie lol.

Thank you for the compliments. Jack is 10 years old. We adopted him in April so we cannot take credit for all of his large vocabulary. His previous owner deserves most of the credit. We were amazed everyday after we adopted him with the things he said.(around 70 words)

Jack had a large vocabulary when we got him. He was 10 years old at the time. The family that had him first must have loved him very much!

This is by far the best video I have seen of a macaw talking. I think that it was great that you gave Jack a good loving home. He is hillarious.
