I think I may actually have seen all of his movie output - mostly too stylised and implausible. MANHUNTER too hysterical with ridiculous variances from the book; HEAT overblown, implausible and infatuated with the Pacino/De Niro presence; THE INSIDER flashy, wasting nearly all its cast, and too long, largely because of exhalting the Pacino segments, which should have been secondary, to the forefront.

Michael Mann has a great style of directing, paying a lot of attention to detail, and above all a good sense for realism.
