I watch this one alot right when it came out in 1991 and the lines in the movie are funny. What about the sick part where Kim(Josh) says," i'll bet he shit his pants i can't wait to look".That had me and my friends grossed out yet lauhging on that line.
@reformthenorm parole board asks"what are you going to do when you get out"?, lithgow says,I'll pay you a visit, parole guy says,Oh,to thank me?,-lithgow says,"no,to fuck your wife, your daughter, hell, maybe even your dog"!!!! LOL!!!!
Great kick-ass movie from 1991 Produced by Silver Pictures the company that prouduces everything from Die Hard 1 & 2, The Lethal Weapon flicks & The Matrix Trilogy,to such kiddie fare like Speed Racer and Fred Claus among others. Denzel Washigton ,and Ice T, both rocks. and John Lithgow's Earl T. Blake has lot more mad attitude.like Gary Oldman & Anthony Perkins mixed in to one badass villain. Look for it on DVD.
It was released in theaters under then-active HBO Cinema Plus L.P., a specialty theatrical film division of HBO that distributed their films through Warner Bros. Pictures. But they shut down a year after "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" came out. They now go by HBO Films, which releases their theatrical films through New Line Cinema and sometimes Universal and they produces original films & mini-series for HBO.
Yes, it was. "The Last Boy Scout" was the first one to use the re-orchestrated variation of the Alan Silvestri-composed theme. The version from "Ricochet" was a little different than that version.
Did the VHS and DVD versions of Ricochet have the WB Shield logo at the start of the film or is it removed for no reason? Also, was there a special variation of the Shield logo at the start or not? Finally, I think the final HBO Cinema Plus movie was actually Mom and Dad Save The World complete with bouncing man-eating mushrooms.
But the Closing Logos website mentions that there is a 1985 Silver Pictures logo that is different than the one in The Last Boy Scout. Is that logo real or fake?
The last movie to use the 1991 Silver Pictures logo was "The Matrix Revolutions". The first movie to use the latest version of the logo was "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" in 2005.
Did The Matrix Revolutions have the Alan Silverstri fanfare during the Silver Pictures logo and does the current Silver Pictures logo appear at the end of the movie much like the 1991 logo?
No, the Alan Silvestri fanfare did not appear at the of "The Matrix Revolutions" and the current Silver Pictures logo appears at the beginning of the movie without the fanfare.
I can't believe that Silver Pictures doesn't even use a fanfare for their logo anymore! I wish they would bring it back for the next movie that they release. I think the final Silver Pictures movie to use the Alan Silvestri fanfare during the logo was Romeo Must Die and not even Cradle 2 The Grave had the fanfare, just some stupid rap music playing over it.
To make matters worse, the current Silver Pictures logo almost always appears without any text at all or they always do a customized variation for the movie that's starting like Fred Claus and Speed Racer which is very stupid to have the logo with no text at all, don't you think so?

The fight scene at the very end of this movie reminds me of my eldest brother Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff's fight scene from FARZ

"Put the gun down or she's gonna need a bag over her head when her boyfriend fucks what's left of her!"
Big day, you remember to floss?...."Yes...with your wife's pubic hair."
John Lithgow had all the badass one liners and was a sinister bad guy in this movie. Classy , this movie has it all!

Was the 1991 movie Ricochet ever released in movie theaters or was it released straight to HBO with no theatrical release at all?

Also, wasn't Ricochet the very first movie from Silver Pictures to use the Silver Pictures logo?

Were there any movies from Silver Pictures from 1985-1990 that had an earlier Silver Pictures logo or did they have no logo at all until 1991?
Jac2Mac 3 years ago
No. They were no logos until 1991.

I wasn't even aware that Silver Pictures had a logo in 1985. But the audio arrangements on the fanfare are different in both films.

What do the songs sound like in the Silver Pictures logo at the end of both Ricochet and The Last Boy Scout?
Jac2Mac 3 years ago
The debut one from "Ricochet" has a jingle much like the one in "The Last Boy Scout" but the orchestrations are slightly different.
