if you're a jazz fan, check out the tribute to this song by Pakistani band at Sachal Studios take five. watch?v=GLF46JKkCNg, fusion cannot possibly get any better than this
I first saw this performed live on a show sponsored by Timex(and, as we all know, I was two years of age at the time!!!)-It is a classic to the third power!!!- krw
i only recently found joe morello whilst watching videos of my favourite drummer bernard purdie. I heard this song long ago but had no idea how to find it. I really think i was born in the wrong year because i missed all of this incredible music. Joe morello really does have great technique and imagination making him my new youtube search.
Hard to believe this was in the british pop-music charts in the early sixties. Were we really so cool? We thought so at the time.Paul Desmond. What can you say? He plays effortless(sounding)improvisations in all sorts of time signatures.I bow to a very superior talent.
late at night, now, more than forty years since I first desmond blow this tune - and it's the one I wanted to hear before I head out, just as I did as a teen ager all those years ago. Is that comment enough? The man's sound has stayed with me, without missing a heart beat four four or five four time. he's phenomenal. and much as I love other sax guys, his sound remains the wind in hollow bamboo - beauty for the ages. yeah.
I never knew this footage existed. Love Dave Brubeck and Time Out one of my favorite Jazz CDs. The Sax cuts through the superb rythm like "smoke curling from the end of a cigarette". Thanks for the clip!
I stumbled upon this and I loved it

I cannot comprehend someone disliking this. Surely they clicked the wrong button accidentally?

Saw him play this live a few years ago. Amazing.
Sad that more people know who Ke$ha is than Dave Brubeck.

@davidjf27 Yeah. Purdie is phenomenal but I'm a bigger fan of Morello, frankly.
