Great video, made a couple of them myself, and they work great!!
Word of caution: be wary of those around you when putting them together inside the store, a couple of the employees thought I was making a pipe bomb or something...
I went to my local plumbing supply and all the tubing came out to $120 for the pair not $52.. Also went to my local Home Depot and Lowe's and they didn't have the same sized pipes indicated in the video. I guess galvanized steel tubing has more than doubled in prize since last year or I just got ripped off.
Either way, thanks for the video they work great! What I do like is that I can fill the inner-pipe with concrete and vary the weight, so by having diff. inner pipes, they become adjustable.
A pipe nipple is in fact a real term. It refers to a short section of pipe that is threaded at both ends. They come in all sizes of pipe and lengths up to around 2ft. Beyond that it will need to cut and threaded instead of purchased as a nipple.
that's awesome. and no glue, no mess, just gotta get a courage to say nipple in a department store. (I second the question, that's really what it's called?)
Looks good, I'm going to make one this week and fill with sand (aiming for 10-15lbs). I was looking for an alternative so I could try out some of these exercises and this looks a lot safer than anything I had thought of.
fill it with sand or bbs to add weight
