I'd like to try this, but wouldn't jump barefoot. It's actually a pretty safe stunt to try (unless the DZO finds out :-P ). The plane only slows to about 90MPH. The wind is trying to pry him off the wing backwards. He's in no danger of getting chopped up by the prop. I'm surprised he could sit up so straight in the windblast. The pilot probably slowed closer to stall speed to make it easier for him.

Sit there too long, & you won't make it back to the DZ. THAT can get you hurt. Landing off greatly increases your chances for an ambulance ride. It's actually much more fun to BE the airplane (freefall). Perhaps you should try it?

Speaking from experience, shuffling to the end of a wing is not very sketchy on its own. What is scary is that he was a slip away from standing on the aileron. The pilot really trusted this guy or thought tossing him off was too risky.

1) If it was real, he would have been sucked into the propeller due to the air-intake - or pushed away

2) Travelling at such a high speed in the air means you'd need to hold on for dear life, you sure as hell couldn't stand on a wing and stay grounded.

3) Nailing a tennis ball to a plane wing can make the plane unstable - there is no way he could have stood on the wing and the pilot not have to counter the instability at all... no turbulence... eh?

1. no... it's called the death slot lol... when u crouch right next to the propelor in the hope ur bag doesn't get ripped from your back... it's done every day in the world of jumping... you need a airline jet engine to suck you in, that one is powerful but still quite weak.

@petacavanagh again... people do it all the time. That is an old video, crap quality and I can tell from the gear he is wearing how old it is also. It's not like there is money in making a fake video. You are the one who needs to revisit your understanding of science. Watch any video with exits that have people climbing outside and then exiting. Say 4 people one the outside of a 182. The plane doesn't go nuts. I've been there, done that, jump pilots are good, they keep the plane stable.
