I can't believe how he can just put his hand on the piano and know which part of it he's on (I don't mean this in a skeptical, mean, way, but in an awestruck, wow way)
being somewhat biased because of personal affiliations with naomi kudo, i felt unconvinced of nobuyuki's ability at the 2009 cliburn and felt he was benefactor of the sympathy vote. fortunately for me i heard him live at the ravinia martin theater last year and i was completely amazed by this man's ability.
@utubuser10 Despite the astounding "La Capanella" I agree about the competition, but Nobuyuki's youtube performance (recent) of the Chopin Db Nocturne has me truly sold on the depth of his gifts. I'm really proud to be able to say this and so happy to hear that he's safe at home.
hey guys, a time while ago, I think a year, there was a video of a masterclass of the rach 2 with Nobuyuki Ttsuji and an English/American professional pianist. The videos were removed due to copyright infrigment or so. Who knows the owner of these videos or who can tell me the place where I can find it. It was a nice video, Nobuyuki Ttsuji played the piano line, interesting to listen only the piano line.
Hey also, kudos to his teacher for teaching him Ravel's "Serenade Grotesque." That's a piece I'd like to hear more often! (Ravel is my favorite composer, tied with Bach.)
