He did sample Represent. But there 2 different songs tbh. Infact this is a superior song to Nas's represent. Nas only mentioned that the rap game nd the drug trade were similar. And whilst the 2 have long been correlated with each other- this song remains the best example to date about the similarites between the rap and crack game. Jay broke it down soo clearly and his flow on this track was INSANE- way better than Nas's flow on represent tbh. Illmatic still remains the best solo rep debut tho.

He took Nas's idea to make his album as you can see. Plus Nas song was pure flow as he spit fire and DJ Premier on the beat made it a classic.
