I'm from Emerald, a town in Australia, which 1 year ago was in drought. During January this year, our dam overfilled and flooded the town. Also, we've had a hail storm within the last 6 months, and it rains nearly every fortnight. This is very unusual for Emerald, so therefore I am extremely supportive of the efforts such organizations are going to, to spread awareness of climate change.

We just spent a large amount of money to dispose it correctly. However nuclear fusion which is clean is being researched to be used in nuclear power plants but the process still proves to be too complicated. Nuclear power is a large part of our energy source but efficient is an opinion.

a good way to raise awareness. I think it would be awesome if everyone done that every week or month or something... because then the average rate would decrease, meaning that less energy on average would be needed which equals less energy being produced, rather than when this happens and the energy not used is just pumped into the ground. =]

Technically taking a bus isn't bad considering you're sort of pooling a bunch of people in one transportation vehicle. Plus you can't really get anywhere on a bike.

I'm from Emerald, a town in Australia, which 1 year ago was in drought. During January this year, our dam overfilled and flooded the town. Also, we've had a hail storm within the last 6 months, and it rains nearly every fortnight. This is very unusual for Emerald, so therefore I am extremely supportive of the efforts such organizations are going to, to spread awareness of climate change.

Our lights were out in the Haight because we weren't home between 8-9pm. But on the way back to SF from the east bay we could see across the city a noticeable reduction in the usual amount of lights. At first we thought there was a strange power outage, then remembered this demonstration. Pretty cool stuff!

Agreed! I despise Al Gore personally, but I still think that climate change is a huge issue. I think that Earth could be well on its way to becoming another Venus, or to another ice age, depending on which scientist you listen to. Either way, it works out bad for us. I think Al Gore got involved for the wrong reasons (his three homes use twenty times the electricity of the average American), but I still believe that global warming is real; this is an ex-skepticist talking.

Like it said in the video... that many people last year turning out their lights was the equivalent of taking 48,000 cars off the road! That means that the amount of CO2 that 48,000 cars would have emitted was saved from being emitted. So yes this project does conserve energy, romengod, but it DOES also help the climate.

Negative meaning you are wrong about nuclear power being clean. Currently our nuclear power is achieved through nuclear fission which is NOT clean. It produces a large amount of radioactive waste. We just spent a large amount of money to dispose it correctly. However nuclear fusion which is clean is being researched to be used in nuclear power plants but the process still proves to be too complicated. Nuclear power is a large part of our energy source but efficient is an opinion.

why they dont do this with gas in usa but they do this with power not buy gas for 1 day so they can lower the gas prices

I work at a nuclear power plant and when you guys turn off the light we dont dail down the power or output so how does this act equate to 48000 cars? This is just another gimmick. But, it is nice to know people care about the enviroment.

actually it aint the gas or anything like that..its because each year the sun groes bigger and bigger...so later on in 3 million year the sun will be swallowing the earth...DUH i think im the only one who knows that. people are goin crazy and dont know the fact that its just nature shure its included to cars and stuff but theres more to discover for our planet <--- never forget that....even though u people might think im wrong or crazy

dude the sun isnt gonna blow or engulf earth for another 4-8 billion years, the earth might even blow before the sun. your right though that nature is playing a big role in climate change and people are getting to hyped about it. However your theory of how global warming is occuring is obviously incorrect..
