April 1996, I was here. I WAS HERE. The audience was actually PASSIONATE, not unruly. Tori was in her prime and was adored, and the crowd was mostly respectful. Just hyped. This was my 1st Tori show (and now I am at 26!)
@terrapinbrad Over 30? Dear god, I've been aware of this song since I was like 7. Everyone knows this song, people who live under rocks know it. Rocks know it. If you aren't aware of this song then I can only assume that you are not a source of animate life.
@Sshelly34213 Thanks for your opinion, despite it's condescending nature. BTW, thanks for the Social Studies lesson. However, let me get this straight, would a tree know it? How 'bout a baby tree or a bush?
@terrapinbrad Jokes by their nature are condescending and the ones that aren't, usually also aren't funny.
Yes trees are aware of this song, baby or otherwise.
Hmm...when did I talk about social studies? Or anything partly relevant to the subject of social studies and humanities? I guess pop culture is relevant and if that's the case, this is one of the most famous and well spread American songs out there.
@Sshelly34213 OK, so a year ago I was caught off guard that someone 'wouldn't be surprised if a professional musician Tori Amos knew the song by heart' and I generalized that all Americans over 30 likely know this song. Then here you are 2 days ago just going through comments trying to pick apart something someone said a yr ago to make them feel stupid or even to just irritate them enough to start some sort of argument. Well, you'll have to look elsewhere...Bye 'sweet girl'.
@terrapinbrad Whoa verbal diarrhea much? 1. there are two pages worth of comments, I wasn't "searching" I saw your comment right away, it's on the first page DUH. 2. How on earth did I make you come off as stupid?-did that yourself. Give me examples in the form of quotations. I don't appreciate being accused of verbal abuse or bullying. Nothing I've written comes off as condescending or degrading. 3. I was agreeing with you stupid. (that pretty much everyone knows this song regardless of age)
@terrapinbrad No offense, but I think you're taking this whole thing way too personally. What exactly disturbed you about my comment? Considering that I pretty much agreed with you and even did so in the form of a humorous-if a bit corny-exaggeration? ::confused::

This time Tori wasn't able to beat Don's perfect voice ....I'm sorry ....well at least she does a better job than Madonna ...

The audience singing along ruins the sound on the video, but I guess it looked like Tori was enjoying it a bit, so...

Singing along is all well and good, but God damn, why must they break in to clapping and screams at the drop of a hat?

punch the audience
embrace the singer
Im sure this sounded much better with the Irish audience
in the experience she described about them all singing along in their lilts
after Kurt died
