As a neutral fan my real comment: first half not undertood.. Second half speed up.. Ajith's dialogues delivery and body languages were just artificial.. He has to improve his dialogue delivery and body language.. Telling age and white hair is a witness of his guts.. About sun pictures: they does again a huge advertise for ordinary film as they did before.. But best film from ajith after long days.

Of course, you're probably a person living in India and it makes sense that you find these other masala over-the-top action movies as your favorites. But I'm an indian as well but I live in the USA. I've seen hollywood movies, and I was ultimately bewildered that Venkat Prabhu made such a movie like this. This movie is hollywood-standard, maybe better IMO.

ajith deserves varalaru aka godfather kind of quality film... i don't like ajith because he is over-rated for average to bad movies like billa, asal etc.. by fanboys... varalaru is his last very good movie... mankatha sucked (only selling point is his villain-ism)... if he does two or three films of varalaru kind of quality...he can be paralleled to SRK... of course he would be in 3rd spot in tamil industry but he deserves more...

In Mankatha, they stole idea from the movie "Italian Job" especially one scene, hacking traffic signal scene, which was quite sensible in english, but in Mankatha, quite ridiculous (logic defying act) and moreover, premji's irritating antics didn't work rather destroyed the show. Music by Yuvan was horrible except theme music. The movie had purposeless script, lifeless character and irritating stunts, which makes mankatha as a worst movie.

If it was an excellent entertainer for you, then good for u that u enjoyed it a lot. For me, it was disappointing because I went with a lot of expectations. What I hated most was that Venkat Prabhu truly screwed the movie which had a great potential to be the best ever thriller movie in Tamil.

Compared with Hollywood movies of similar genres, Mankatha is trash. But by Tamil movie standards, it's decent.

P.S:I felt it was much better than that monstrosity Endhiran.
