Can you break a virtual tooth or virtual hydraulic line with that thing, or have a virtual engineer get in the way and keep you from doing your job properly, etc?

Nah, you can't do any of those things, If you hit into any vehicle with the bucket or by driving into it. It stops the excavator dead in it's tracks. Basically you can drive around in a small area, dig certain areas of dirt and load it. You can't even fall into a hole you just dug. It just drives over it like nothing. I don't think you can actually break anything.

That doesn't look very realistic. I mean, there doesn't seem to be that resistance factor in the digging...how to work the bucket, and the booms to fill your bucket. Looks like you just drop and scoop.

you are right, It's not very realistic. It doesn't dig like it should and sometimes it pisses me off. The best thing it does is teach you how the controls work.

Anyone can purchase the training simulator from a caterpillar dealer. I believe it costs around $7,000 (): ......id rather buy a used backhoe for that price.
