  • Oh Yeah there's that Schindler MIC V Lift again.

It's always good to watch what anyone is doing with it as you know i wouldn't touch it with A 40 foot pole.

Reading some of the other comments on this page I too would be more comfortable with A Westinghouse DMR. Here in Sydney I,ve seen 5 different sites of these. Sad thing is they no longer exist in service. Filming one of these would make Top Quality You Tubing Value for the Elevator Enthusiast.

Thank you for your input. I filmed this video a while back and do not even know if it is still running to date.

Innovation gives birth to many different kinds of elevators. This happened to be one type spawned during the 80's.

Oh Yeah in The 80's , DEVO was The Top of The POPs and we were all keeping up with The Commadore Computer. As matter of fact I was listening to talk back radio between jobs the other night and this Guy rang the radio station to say that he still had A Commadore Computer and that it still works. Then another Guy called up to say that his ATARI Game Console still works as well. 1980's technology was the benchmark of what we have today.

    Wow.

I recently gave away my old CoCo computer 16K keyboard that I had upgraded to 32K. It performed flawlessly after 30 some odd years. The 80's was a time any one with a good electronic background could have become very rich if he surfed the computer and internet tidal wave.

  • Miconic VM is fantastic equipment, from an MTBC standpoint. But from a troubleshooting standpoint, it can be an onerous and trying experience to say the least. Not as bad as DMR, though. :)

  • @iWysocki

We are all capable of greatness. Exposure is the key.My advise for any young mechanic is to Learn the new equipment. It will be around in 20 years ans so will you. Don't waste time learning the stuff that's no longer made. I have had the fortune of working with prehistoric Westinghouse up to DMR's.They were the Rolls Royce of relay logic. Years ago Companies paid over scale for these young valuable mechanics. You would be shocked how these seniors are being treated today.

  • you don't have to type AD,ER. ER can be accessed straight from the main menu or most other menus for that matter.

  • @iWysocki

Thank you for your input. It is most appreciative.

  • Looks like ye can't open ye doors me boy, ye have any dmr tips? Ye cracked the code on a 10 stop vm job me boy and got ye learn down to a science.

  • @carlsojo36

    Thank ye for ye comments.

As far as Westinghouse DMR, well that is a breed all unto itself. The Rolls Royce of all relay logic controllers. Purchase an ignition file if you can still find one in an auto store and grind it down so it can fit in between the relay contacts. This is an awesome way to clean the contacts. It's much better than using match sticks to build up sagging contacts. Most DMR's are gone. They use to pay big bucks to a mechanic who could fix them. Not anymore.
