Dedicated servers mean exactly what it sounds like, A Server that is dedicated to one thing and is not shared with another, allowing the developer(Treyarch/Infinity Ward) to have full control over the servers. Because commentators use the term incorrectly, people tend to believe that it doesn't have them.

@ds12z Yes the PC version does have dedicated servers. Ping and connection speed is dependant on the location of the server, how far away you are from the server and your internet connection speed.

The console versions running on a peer to peer (p2p) basis so your connection speed depends on the hosts connection speed and how far away in the world you are from the hosts console.

Alot of people do have a pretty good computer + an xbox or PS3 or whatever. And YES, graphs ain't as good as on the PC, but if you think about this way: The Xbox and the PS3 lasts a while and can handle ALL of the games that come out during, like 5 years, +, again, it doesn't cost as much as a new pc.

I think it's an awesome idea to let the PC players have the better graphs, and overall more stuff "attached", since everything started on the PC. But as i said, the Xbox, PS3 and Wii (i dont quite know about this ^^), is a lower budget gaming system, which makes people, who doesn't have enough money for a gaming pc, or just likes the consoles, able to play the new games

And if alot fewer people would buy that, to play the games, the companies wouldn't get enough money to expand etc.

PC - Awesome dedicated servers with almost no lag for everyone (unless the server you join is acting up)

Consoles - Unfair advantage of no lag as host, Unfair disadvantage of annoying levels of lag from joining a game hosted by someone not even remotely near you.

The main reason I hated MW2 was the absence of dedicated servers on PC. I can't stand the console hosting method on PC games, it's just too shoddy.
