In the book, Malcom gets a look at a chunk of flesh that washed up in Costa Rica, where some lab geek describes that the skin has tons of cells that control skin pigment, like an octopus. Flip forward to near the end of the book, we find the carnotaurs and their active camoflauge abilities. They get chased off by bright lights being turned on and off, spoiling their cover and forcing them to give up in frustration. Anticlimactic, to be sure, but still awesome.

In Michael Crichton's novel "The Lost World," there's a Carnotaur that was genetically grafted with a chameleon's DNA so that it could blend in with its background. The people that made this arcade game must've had that in mind, but the whole invisible thing was just exaggerating =).

Anyways, I just LOVE this game. When I have a lot of money, I'm gonna get it.

I was five years old when I played this level, and it scared the living hell out of me. Why? Because on top of having to be afraid of regular dinosaurs trying to kill me, I found out there were also INVISIBLE dinosaurs! What, lightning fast raptors and a giant crocodile weren't enough? You had to go and give me nightmares lasting onto adulthood? Yeesh... needless to say, I LOVE this game!

in the books, they explained that they also mixed other dna of other reptiles to fill in the gaps

for the Carnotarus, it was given chameleon DNA, which resulted in such advanced camo abilities
