@EpicPremonitionUK Point taken my friend, but it find it inconcievable that given the loft key was under the sofa cushion where the woman was sat, the police could find no other evidence either on the tampered electric meter or any sort od DNA, fingerprint evidence in the loft. I realise they don't give you all the facts in a show like that, but surely some other evidence must have been found, at least enough to go to trial.
@curlyjim2550 what happens is they don't actually launch an investigation as they consider those offences legless. What they will do is keep an eye on the property owner and the invdividuals and hope to get the bigger picture and then proceed to take action, it's a shame really...that's what my friend told me anyway, he's an officer
Get caught without insurance ( probably didn't have any because his insurance was too expensive) and there is a £150 fine and 6 points.
If he comes to actually insure a car he can look to pay about £1000 with those kind of points, where's the incentive for him to pay it when he can just drive around and face a £150 fine? It's not like he's bothered about points as he didn't have a full driving license!

Hi OhsoKatlike, They break many laws, far to many to list. They're a law unto themselves, the do injure people when they collide with pedestrians. It's all relative, if insurance was "affordable" nobody would dodge it & if we paid for our insurance based on our licence not our vehicles nobody could dodge it. Get caught without insurance ( probably didn't have any because his insurance was too expensive) and there is a £150 fine and 6 points.
If he comes to actually insure a car he can look to pay about £1000 with those kind of points, where's the incentive for him to pay it when he can just drive around and face a £150 fine? It's not like he's bothered about points as he didn't have a full driving license!
Throw the book at them, £1000 fine and 200 hours community service.

With the stupid high cost of insurance, its no wonder people drive without insurance. I think the law is also wrong because they have no right in my book to confiscate property that is owned outright & not criminally gained! Taking the high ground but the laws only make money for insurance firms & scrap yards. They stole his car, they deprived him possession of his property. They need to catch real criminals not motorists! Such as cyclists! I expect I am in the minority against do-gooders!

Like that woman said if they had been in an accident with that baby in the vehicle they would've been screwed, the amount of money they would've had to fork out to pay for any medical bills if it was injured is considerably more than paying your insurance.

Hi OhsoKatlike, They break many laws, far to many to list. They're a law unto themselves, the do injure people when they collide with pedestrians. It's all relative, if insurance was "affordable" nobody would dodge it & if we paid for our insurance based on our licence not our vehicles nobody could dodge it. It also about time people took responsibility for their actions instead of blaming the motorist. That reminds me, horse riders are another bunch that need to be banned too!

Even if a gun is not used though, it's still very intimidating and a big deterrent.
To be honest, I find it quite irresponsible for British police to not have the means to stop criminals or to end a pursuit early. This whole situation is just risking the lives of innocent people.
