I had to laugh at Darbkin's comment made 2 months ago..I've been on jobs in Saskatchewan and shit man I've seen Farmers haul some heavy loads with small tractors and their pickups and not brand new pickups at that I'm talking pickups they probably sat on the back of while their mom and dad were driving to church back in the day..lol.Maybe old pickups mind you but they sure do put alot of work in them to keep em running over time.
i was there when this rig passed wandering river along highway 63 to mort mac. if i remember correctly, 34 feet wide, 260 some tires, and 160,000,000 tons. at the point where i saw it, it had 2 trucks pulling and 2 pushing.
there are so many people form the philippines working up where this is. I'm up here now, there's lots of you little guys. lol. CNRL is where that one was going.
At this point they had one tractor in front and one behind. At some places they have as many as 5 on the rig. Once they get around the corner they put 2 or 3 more on. There are a few hills on the route too.
I work off and on in Fort McMurray, and ive been told 1200 HP each, and yes they can get up to 4-5 at the same time between pushing/pulling on the hill called Supertest.
That big vessel (one of many) is used in the vertical position at the Syncrude plant in Fort McMurray to process and separate the crude bitumen from the oil sands.

that thing does not weigh 160,000,000 tons
it might 500-600 tons
thats a empty tank looks super heavy
160mill tons is like 438 empire state buildings
the empire state building weighs 365000 tons or so a normal fully loaded truck weighs 40 tons it looks massive but its not 160mill tons
just wanted to correct you =)
