What a shame of this Goering compared to the Luftwaffe ace pilots who fought in many European air battles and most died. He didn't deserve to be commandant of Luftwaffe, wich made uncountable mistakes in Great Britain and Russia. Many Luftwaffe aircraft soldiers died under his mistaken orders.

The irony being that he was up against the brilliant General Hap Arnold, who was a genius of strategic aerial warfare. The result was German cities reduced to rubble and the Third Reich dispatched to the ash heap of history, where it belongs.

Goering did not understand modern air war strategies. Luftwaffe was great and full of competent people. Lutwaffe´s worst weakness was Reichmarshall Hermann Goering.

It wasn't its only weakness. The German way in war fails because it is overly focuse on tactics and operations, not strategy. Eventually you will be passed in ops and tactics. And thats what happened. The Luftwaffe had no strategic capabilities. It was a flawed air force.

No it didn't. The Luftwaffe was a fundamentally flawed weapon. It is the typical response of the arm chair general to say "if they turned left instead of right they would have won". The fact of the matter warfare is extremely complicated. The failures in doctrine, production, training all ensured failure. It is not right to blame Hitler for the military failures. The problem with that is it absolves the German OKW from guilt. They were implicit in the disasterous military decisions made.
