  • This will win an Emmy

  • made by steven spielberg

  • quite possibly the greatest film ever made. This was one of the few movies that brang out my emotions. Wonderfully directed. BRAVO!

  • Based on the award winning 3 second novel.

  • the oldest surviving movie ever

  • *walking goes on*

    ends

    *applauds*

  • Arrive at the movie theater...

    Buy popcorn and drink...

    take a seat...

    *nom nom nom*

    *sluurrpp*

    Lights dim

    (3 seconds pass)

    "The End"

    lights turn back on

    "...THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!"

  • Geez this quality sucks.

  • Comment removed

  • there was suppose to be more light on the left.

  • How do I enable 1080p HD?

  • I really like your nickname ;)

  • i liked the part when the guy turned around

  • @deathknigt3000 I like the part where people stop sarcastically saying they like a part of something that they clearly dont like...

  • the acting was amazing

  • they should make a sequal

  • Is it avaible on Bluray?

  • Are there any deleted scenes?

  • They're remaking this, It's a fucking outrage.

  • what season is this? im looking forward to watch season 5 in september

  • I had to pee, what did I miss?

  • Were they dancing?

  • This is................... AWESOM!!!!

  • things like this make me wonder who were those people?

  • @worldofwarcraft600 Harriet Hartley Adolphe Le Prince Joseph Whitley Sarah Whitley

Sarah Whitley is the oldest person appeared in a movie. she born in 1816.

and she died 10 days after that movie has been taken.

  • @worldofwarcraft600 One of them died from a gunshot.

  • LOL! :D

  • You all hear about the remake Disney's going to make? They'll probably just screw it up like they do everything, though, and lose all the suspense.

  • @mario64guy they announced the new actors for it, zac efron and miley cyrus haha xD (just joking)

  • Thank you for posting. I don't think people realize the importance of this little bit of film. It's amazing to watch this and think of how far we have come with cinematography and the art of film. These people had no idea that they were pioneers in what would become a multi-billion dollar industry.

  • @dbo1300 multi-trillion and it is amazing how far film has come with giant robots tranforming, blue aliens fighting humans on another planet, giant ships sinking in the atlantic, war and crime movie, and 3D

  • Some of the actors in this film and the creator met weird deaths. Wiki the title. The creator disappeared right after he finished this before he could even show it and the guy walking out front is his son who was shot dead. The old lady also died right after this made. thanks for posting it, it's nice to have access to rare stuff like this instead of the old days where you had to visit a museum.

  • is he walking in circles

  • I ask, why didn't Le Prince, the director, take his camera to Scottland Yard so they could caught the freakin Ripper in his comming act of murder.

  • i wish he kept on rolling for at least a minute , too bad that it's only like 3 seconds

  • the dude in the black suit O MAN he stole the show he needs an emmy now when does it come out on blu ray hell this is prbly disney

  • The director should have shot this in 3D.

  • Needs more artistic nudity.

  • good movie.

  • i want the script please

  • people i give you the oldest actors in history, the oldest people to hit the box office,in the best movie ever!!!

  • Apparently James Cameron is doing a remake. He's going to colour them all blue and cut down on the plot.

  • Wait, he was the killer the whole time!?

  • The ending was a twist!

  • Is that the chick from "Silence of the Lambs?"

  • i can`t believe he was her brother

  • Forget Avatar, this movie has the greatest effects eva <3

  • My favorite part is when the walking happened

  • I like the plot twist!

I expect instant box office hit coming from this movie!

  • lol today, this would be enough for the big tv stations to add 2 minutes of commercial brake ... oO

  • @lachgasballon haha so true

  • its weird seeing this, like a shitty time device

  • My personal favorite. It gets me every time.

  • That movie is 121 years old today.

  • I 'm totally buying the 120th Anniversary Edition of this on Blue-Ray!

  • With over 30 minutes of extra footage!

  • I wonder how long the trailer is

  • probably a millisecond or shorter

  • it was probably a half-second long

  • Comment removed

  • its so *sniff* moving

  • very long.

  • now thats an awsome action movie!

  • Comment removed

  • omg I bet that won many oscars

  • Can't wait for the sequel! Anyone know if this will be out on Blu-Ray any time soon?

  • Hmmm. I didn't like it--there wasn't enough emotion and plot development--it was just too simple. And the acting wasn't great either; the leads totally lacked chemistry and they seemed so bored throughout that is was almost as if they were just walking in circles throughout. Also, the whole thing felt too rushed--it was so simplistic and intellectually dull that it might as well have been 2 seconds long. And the ending was really bad--it seemed stale.

  • ditto ... !!

  • I don't care what you guys say. This movie was amazing!

  • lol! that's something I would write.

    i agree.

although, i like this movie because it doesn't give you enough time to get bored.

  • I know, I didn't look at my watch once during this movie.

    A sure sign it's a classic!

  • I was watching TV wating for it to turn on and when i turned around it was over! LOL! 5/5 thanks for uploading fav'd

  • This was 129 years ago. respect.

  • Do your math. 129 years ago was 1880. This film was from 1888.

  • 120 or 121.

it was before october acording to imdb, so... i would guess 120. still... long time.

  • Can't wait for the commentary by the cast and the making-of featurette; almost as long as the movie itself.

  • I don't know why, but this is creepy.

  • Maybe but its still pretty cool.

  • It is.

  • overrated

  • Wow, thats cool!

  • Best film from '88.

  • The film was so focused on Aldolphe that the arc of Joseph and Sarah is hardly touched upon. The love between Joseph and Sarah, who is walking backwards throughout the entire film, creates an air of mystery that may be overlooked during a casual viewing. Joseph's implied affection for Sarah is left very open ended, though their brief interaction could be seen as a sign that Joseph's presence will be the change in Sarah's life that will set her on the straight and narrow path forward in life.

  • and you can say all that with only 2 seconds of video? dude, you are awesome then.

  • Imagine if this guy knew what he started, and that movies such as "Porky's", "Weekend at Bernie's" and "Joe Dirt" would be produced. I'll bet he'd have destroyed his camera on the spot.

  • 5 star movie but the 2nd stunk

  • yeah this is going to be a summer blockbuster

  • Um, kloratis, the film is 120 years old, what the hell were you expecting?

  • I was kidding, you smart...

  • So was I, I was making fun of the general tone of comments about these kinds of things. Sorry that wasn't clear! I got your joke.

  • Everyone in this movie is dead.

  • Not only that, but everyone who knew these people while they were alive are also dead. This pleases me.

  • you're an idiot

  • i heard the book was better

  • All the questions will be answered in the sequel.

  • Great movie, but the video game adaptation sucked

  • Can I get this in 1080p and 7.1 sound somewhere?

  • I cant wait for the Special Edition DVD with delted scenes

  • how can you tell?

  • Woah, look out, Citizen Kane!!

  • It's amazing to see how far movies have come in only 120 years. We've gone from 2 second silent films to 2 hour films, computer effects. It really is incredible.

  • I think its incredible how little weve progressed.

  • A 2 second movie, Ithink this is THE shortest movie ever made! Just think how movies, video games, music and many of todays entertaining mediums progressed

  • when does the extended special edition DVD come out

  • wow the first movie ever, this is actually very cool to see film's humble roots

  • Except that Edison and those French guys didn't base their studies off of this guy's technology, so if this guy had never existed, the film today would be the same.

  • Filmed right where I grew up, it's so strange to think my little home suburb contributed so much to the world of film!

  • i want to download this but im too lazy, can any one do me the favor?? : D

i know how to payback favors ;) (hope this doesnt sound gay)

  • zykns: they have it on google video

  • That's cool. I wish there was more!

  • I wonder if there was more...

  • You guys are morons, do you realize what this represents in the history of film? With out it, we may not even have the sophisticated digital effects we do today.

  • Yeah, don't you get it?

  • Excelent HEHEHE

  • Hmm. :)

  • This was filmed in the year Jack the Ripper struck....crazy!

  • actually this film is like the Ring, and now that you've watched it...well...

  • ups....

  • wow, very interesting. the oldest existing film.

  • Wow. That's pretty cool. I watched it over ten times. This was made in 1888, right?

  • OMG this is amazing whe nyou get in to deep thought about this all the people are dead and you werent alive and oooohhhh its sooo cool :)

  • Ahh!, me perdi la trama. Pestanee y no logro entender de que se trata la "historia", ¿que es lo que pasa en el cuadro 13?

  • oh! remember when that guy did that one thing, and the other guy did a different thing? so cool! whens it on dvd?

  • gasp! its a man walking! im going to watch this again... seriously wow 1888 eh? man i wish the rest wasnt missing because i really enjoy old films.

  • this is not the first film ever, but the oldest film that still exists

  • so what is the first film ever that doenst still exist?

  • 1878 story about a horse but it's lost!

  • Quick Marty to the delorian!

  • The first ever film was only 2 seconds long?

  • well whats left of it is 2 seconds...

  • think of the special features for this! The trailer must be amazing.

  • hahaha

  • So, when will it be available on DVD, damn it?! =D

  • I don't get the plot twist at the end, this film is too complicated. Nice opening though.

  • This amazingly complicated piece of beautiful art tells a complex story of a man's delicate dance around the lust for sin (represented by the woman) and his eventual realization that no matter now far from sin one has tip toed, the afterlife (represented by the black par on the right) may not be quite the ending one has hoped for. The controversy in this film is the fact that the ending is missing, possibly on purpose, and is completely left up for the viewer to interpret.

  • hahahahah nice analysis xD

  • wow the summary is longer than the movie. hahaha

  • XD, I've never seen anyone as dumb as "cool123man."

  • lol, innit

  • im boycotting netflix. i cant find it anywhere

  • Did you know that the lady in the video died 10 days later?

  • yea i heard that there's a lot of mystery surrounding this video

almost everyone included died not long after it was filmed

  • to je o sto roku starsi jak ty, tak co tu drzkujes

  • dude i have no idea wat the HELL youre talking. but if you trying to tell that this "movie" is good youre seriosly need medical attention

  • This was the first movie EVER made...educate yourself.

  • now, now... zerodin's right, so shut tf up

  • hey "cool123man" how about you choose a nickname that fits you instead... like retarded123kid

  • lol

  • I agree.

  • look, this dude can think whatever he wants, even if it makes him an ignorant fuck.

  • That's awesome. What are they doing though?

  • Watch it over and over again and you will see something different each time.

  • I think a remake is coming out first

  • It will star Bruce Willis and come out in 2009 as an action packed adventure with CGI and a $250 million budget.

  • The book was better.
