@Quionic7 A TV License is to(or was intended to) pay for the BBC and analogue channel. when the radio was introduced here the BBC was the only station. Instead of having to pay for the channel you'd pay a license fee to own the radio and therefore be able to pick up the BBC network. It's a bit outdated I suppose but thats why they exist,have a look at the history of radio it'll make sense

@braveGurkhali well..there is 2 types of tv licence non payers.....1 is the person who dont watch tv and the other is the person who watches tv but dont want to pay. i ok with both types as i think the tv licence is a con!! i think it is best you do your own research anyway. if you remove their right of access under common law, they cant come to your house(google implied rights of access) the tvl people have no authority and rely on people telling them they watch tv. good luck

@pbushp You haven't read the TAC of a TV licence your just going by what you've been told by others. If you have a TV capable of receiving BB1, BB2, Dave or any other BBC channel you need a TV licence. If you own a RADIO you need a TV licence, because it picks up (you guessed it) BBC radio and the same now goes for the internet. If you have access to the internet in your home then you also need a TV licence as you have access to BBC dot com and the BBC IPLAYER.

The lady was just doing her job, there was no need to be so...forward. She, as a police officer, has to investigate any complaint made - that's all she did. It's not against the law to film, but most people aren't used to having a camera put in their face; me included (and I would not be comfortable with it, I might add).

@braveGurkhali well..there is 2 types of tv licence non payers.....1 is the person who dont watch tv and the other is the person who watches tv but dont want to pay. i ok with both types as i think the tv licence is a con!! i think it is best you do your own research anyway. if you remove their right of access under common law, they cant come to your house(google implied rights of access) the tvl people have no authority and rely on people telling them they watch tv. good luck

@pbushp You haven't read the TAC of a TV licence your just going by what you've been told by others. If you have a TV capable of receiving BB1, BB2, Dave or any other BBC channel you need a TV licence. If you own a RADIO you need a TV licence, because it picks up (you guessed it) BBC radio and the same now goes for the internet. If you have access to the internet in your home then you also need a TV licence as you have access to BBC dot com and the BBC IPLAYER.

But with there own tv shows such as Eastenders and inbetween programs they advertise other tv shows, where within them tv shows you will find product placement Advertising, from witch they make Billions each year, So we are paying for them to advertise to us. =/ The money from what we pay them just allows the big wigs to keep there muti-million pound salery.
