That's a 1P21 reticle. In real life it has a 4-12 variable magnification, with auto-adjustable bullet drop compensation (it adjusts as you zoom in or out), the square with horizontal line below it is the rangefinder, the only problems with this scope is once you zeroed it to a determined magnification, it will lose its zero if you change the magnification. I think that the whole zoom in/out gimmick is only useful for rangefinding purposes. Good video.
@IggyHazard I knew it, I expect something like that. Specially in the oingo boingo part. Anyway, going back to the topic of this video, I noticed that the NPC and monsters are more vulnerable when they stagger after being shot.
the damage is not the problem, it kills in one shot if its a headshot BUT the bullet doesnt go where you aim... the scope is totaly off and the bullet actualy hits above the target... try it on a building.. aim at a certan point a see whare it hits actualy... it's a realy stupid bug or they tought it would be a good idea to use a rifle centerd at a 500m range (most firefight ranges in stalker are <200m)
ps. the rectile is frem a zoom scope and thus tottaly wrong because you cant zoom
Not that the chevrons actually worked. The game world, the PSO and the binoculars are all on a different scale. The only game where i could actually use the PSO reticule correctly is ARMA 2. You can actually use the rangefinder thingy in the bottom-left part.
Even though Priboi Story makes the game somewhat harder, the cheap 7N1 (or is it 7N14?) ammo, which is the worst ammo for the sniper rifles, can kill a Monolithian in 1 to 2 shots to the chest.
The difference shows up mostly on monsters. I'm pretty sure they did it to make certain weapons match certain enemies. Shotguns against monsters. Rifles against people. Et cetera. But still, if you can kill a thick-skulled monster like a flesh with a single shot to the head with 12-gauge buckshot, you should be able to do the same with either a single slug or a single round of 7.62R.
The damage would be about the same. It would only have slightly less accuracy due to a shorter barrel. But it does have that combination muzzle brake/semi-suppressor. It only suppresses the sound enough to muffle the noise from a long enough range, especially if firing over a hill...I think.

I miss the old reticles from the unmodded game, especially the PSO-1 reticle with the chevrons.

Thats a very interesting scope reticle.

It's different in the unmodded game.

That doesn't even look like an SVD, from the First Person view it looks like some sort of Valmet AK clone.

Wouldn't it be fun to have a Zastava M-76 in the Zone?!

What's wrong with the SVD- Ohh. I see.
PrimoVids 2 years ago
Unscoped, it fires in retarded random directions, even if you're right up against something (rodents in this case). And it doesn't kill g0od enough.

Not even in the SVD; the slightly-worse SVU!

Fuckin lol'd.
Also, thought the SVU would be abit better in terms of damage/accuravy and shit?
Also lol'd @ frustration near 4 mins in.

I was using my loluneducated-gameplayer senses here.
Also never knew it had a combination muzzlebrake/semi-suppresor, that's interesting.
The joke was, the SVU = newer then the SVD so it'de be better in all respects, like how the AK-47 < AK-74 < AK-101, etc.
Lucidius134 2 years ago
It's lighter and more balanced. Much less cumbersome.
