  • some singer died to early what a choir he has up there

  • The voice of an angel. Lord, the moments of pure, unadultrated joy this great man gave to the world and to me. Listen, children, listen to that voice. One of the finest talents of the century. Listen. Please. For your soul.

  • A song for love ..sung by a soulful lover with a loving voice..compare it to none ..ever

  • IT'S SAD THE WAY JACKIE PASSED...I WISH THEY COULD HAVE MADE A MOVIE ABOUT HIS LIFE..BUT IT IS SO TRAGIC.....

  • @bcopp Two different genres. Silly to compare. It's like comparing Johnny Mathis to Steven Tyler, or Ella Fitzgerald to Madonna.

  • NO DOUBT,HE'S#1FOR ALL TIMES.VOCAL, DANCE,AND STYLE*****5 STARS

  • I first heard jackie wilson in 1956=Lonely teardrops. It was nice listening but Alone At Last vividly illustrates his range and talent. oh where have all the great Black singers gone?

  • my mum loves this so much.

  • Beautiful!

  • Do you think people will be listening to today's "music" 50 years from now the way we are listening to singers like Jackie Wilson or Roy Orbison, etc.? No way.

  • @tallyshark Prince made a comment that today's music is "bubble gum music". Now I was born in 1964. This song was out before I was born and I love it!

  • DANG ME... Chewbacca sings opera quite well BWAAhahaha

  • No human being could hit the notes Jackie Wilson could

  • omg his voice sounds lovely omg i miss jackie i just want to shake his hand and thank him for his lovely soothing opera sounding voiceee!!

  • With all of the so-called docu-drama movies (Ray, La-Bamba, Lyman, Dream Girls, etc) they've made over the past twenty-five years, I fail to understand why a movie has yet to be to be made with an unbelieveable story, about an unbelieveable talent, with an unbelieveable voice, wrapped up in an unbelieveable tradgedy no screen write could ever devise. WHY NOT? For all the money Gordy made off of Wilson, HE (alone) should do it. Or maybe Nate Tarnabaums family? RIP great one!

  • I love him..... Don't you have video with Chain Gang?

  • Thanks for posting, my favourite JW song!

  • Only one Jackie Wilson.

  • I really feel sad listening to such a great artist. I watch bandstand a million years ago. Jackie was the one. His range is almost impossible to reach. Nobody did the songs better. Singers these days don't get what great music is about. I agree with you amalfi348. damama728

  • Can you imagine a duet with Jackie Wilson & Timi Yuro? The heart & soul of perfection.

  • Beautiful!

  • what a beautyful voice-how sad he passed away too soon.a genius.

  • @hollbri Can you imagine a duet of Jackie Wilson & Timi Yuro? That would be the heart & soul of perfection.

  • @bimbamjam I never thought of that combination, but you're right. Talk about power.

  • Another great post, ILoveJenni47!! My thanks to Marcie - Dee530 - for sharing Jackie Wilson with me!! Five stars!!

    David

  • You're very welcome!

  • This man could sing the telephone book and it would sound great!!!

  • Jackie and Roy O were angels, and they flew back to heaven much to soon!

  • This song only went to #8? Quite a shame.

  • Just lovely! I enjoyed it very much

  • So do I; every time I listen

  • One of my two favorite singers, Jackie and Roy O. What talents with fantasic vocal ranges.........

  • love this ...to me ..the black elvis...and both of them would kick your ass...real dudes, real talent...real deal...thanx 4 song

  • Jackie Wilson was as good as it gets...it's a shame that he has been neglected so long...how did you find this posting?

  • saw this on your page Simon.... nice :-)

  • It's on CD #2 of the set I sent

  • ive not listened to cd 2 yet.. ive not listened in order!!!

  • "Alone At Last", based on a Tchaikowsky's "Piano Concerto in B Flat" was a double sided hit, the flip side was "Am I The Man" a great Rocker! The man could sing anything...they sure don't make um like that no more! "Alone At Last" reached #8 on the Billboard Pop charts in 1960, and # 20 on the R & B chart... That's probably the first and last time that Tchaikovsky will have an R & B hit!!!

  • Nothing can compare to this. American Idol.. so far, far below this.

  • "Alone At Last", a personal favourite so

wonderful to hear once again... I love all

of Jackie's Great Work... But the Operatic

Classics, just take me to another Place.

What a Magical Voice, Brilliant, I truly love

    it.

    Thanks, Marcie

  • Yes, this is one of the best ones!

  • @Dee530 A classic singer singing a classic song, now that's class
