Another few tips (experience):

-Mind SHADOWS! If they cross the invisible line, they can easily be missed.

-If at all possible, try to diffuse the lighting, to avoid the previous point being an issue.

-Try to do both 'twins' in one take, not stopping the film. Pressing any buttons on the camera can create enough of a movement to ruin the effect.

@DavinaFaerie It's really easy. You put in two video tracks and go to picture in picture. I use Power Director 9. The pip is in one of the edit buttons. Making the videos for cloning is a harder thing to do.

is ther a way to change the border line? like instead of using one of the preset filters "say the one that cuts the video in half to overlay" can you edit the border of oen video to over lap say a little more on one side then strickly midde. hopefully i am making sense. basically instead of using the 50/50 regardless of left and right filter can you go in an offset it say 60 percent on one side and 40 percent on the other video?

Thank you 4 sharing. Great effect but I have a major problem with PIP effect mask. It's the last step. So, when I apply the mask, the edges of the video remains. It's like the mask only stretches to 4:3, and my video AND the whole preview window is in 16:10. I'm trying to resize video like it's shown in this tutorial but it doesn't go further.

So, when I apply the mask, the whole effect is ruined cause there are edges visible. Any help would be much appreciated. I have PD 9 with last patch & CP

@Cromadda I had the same problem! I realized it was a really easy fix though...just un-check the box that says something like "maintain mask aspect ratio" when you are in the pip mask effect tab.

@MidniteTofu make sure tht when you shoot it, the whole thing has to be in one shoot. like walk in on the right side do whatever you want leave from the right side. then while still recording go to the left side and do the same thing. hope this helped.

Welll it depends...

If you want more advanced tools and options and a little bit more free then vegas.

If you want an easier one with simple things but a little bit powerfull (or maybe alot) and download stufff from the internet than Power Director.
