Contrary to what everyone else on here is saying haha, I love this commercial. My mom is a nurse and she has been one for 35 years. She's a great lady and this commercial makes me feel so much pride for her. I'm glad Johnson and Johnson are funding a campaign for nurses. Some of the true unsung heroes in our society.
As a paramedic I have a great deal of respect for the nursing profession. However in this commercial all of the senerios that they show are actually paramedic jobs. Only the one of the baby in the nursery is truely a nursing environment. I have done some research and found that nationally on .1% (that's 1/10th of a percent) of prehospital responces are done by RN's (PHRN's included.) And people wonder why EMS is a career is suffering more every year. Thanks to commercials like this.
I bet this woke up a million people after the dramatic "Yooooooouure a Nurse"... couldnt stop laughing for about 15 minutes after i saw this.. glad I'm not the only who thinks this is funny
EMTs and Paramedics have to pass there National Registry test. Many co-workers belong to the NAEMT, which is the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. There are also many other organizations that work to improve protocols and standards such as the IAFF, DOT, and NFPA just to name a few. Many paramedics do hold a AAS in paramedicine, like myself, and wish to further our education we can choose to in Emergency Management. As a paramedic I do more skills than nurses
nurses focus more on med surge and lab values while paramedics focus on cardiology and advanced airway management, please guys give credit to those who actually save lives like paramedics and doctors,
@medicaltranseint You're saying you ride bitch, too? Or am I a bitch? Wow. Why do I have to be a bitch? "You're a bitch! You make a difffference!" lol
as a paramedic this pisses me off, please someone sympathize with me, these ass holes at johnson and johnson are going to get a nasty letter from me. nurses are like monkeys who actually make almost no decisions and cannot act until their puppet masters write the orders, the difference is nurses make 30$ an hour while paramedics make 12 - 18$ and perform may more advanced procedures without the MD orders, both are a 2 year degree,
OMGosh...you all are my people! I thought I was the only one that sang this stupid song every time the commercial came on. We are all kindred spirits.
Dude I had to run to this commerical online to see if I was the only one who was dying laughing at the "you're a nurse, you make a diffrence" part...good to know I'm not
Nothing against nurses, we have 2 in our family, but since when do nurses work on ambulances or in the field? Isn't that what Paramedics and EMT's do? As far as I know Emergency medicine (EMT/Paramedic) training is not part of RN training. I believe Johnson & Johnson needs to stop promoting RN's in the field. It is very misleading!
Hey Ricksterical...Interesting comment you make! I always thought although I have not made up my mind that being an RN as a guy would be a really interesting field to get into and understand what your saying ! Would it be fair to air commercials that promote the idea that all emt's & paramedics be referred to solely as males ?? I think not ! It's totally cool guys are getting into being RN's and I'm still seriously considering it as a career goal !
Nurses don't work in the field what a load of shit, I've been a paramedic for several years and I know this for a fact, This commercial is an insult to real EMS professionals; nurses are not trained nor are they allowed in most states to work in the field, (With the exception of critical care transports.) Nurses, please stay inside your little offices and hospitals while the puppet master pulls your strings, let the real heroes work out in the trenches.
@rbrown61611 nurses only work in EMS when doing some neonate transports or an MCI. Sometimes they do first respond to wrecks but their prehospital EMS skills are sometimes rusty. They're better than nothing but I've had CPR classes with nursing students. Oh and remember the nurse's association in California opposed the Wedworth-Townshend bill that created "Johnny and Roy" in 1970.

I feel bad that this commercial didn't inspire more people. I'm a nursing student and I have wonderful instructors who have changed my life. They are my friends and they Inspire me to help people. A nurse made a difference in my family's life when I was a child. My sister is now an ER nurse who loves her job and she saves lives. Maybe the people who leave bad comments have just gone to the wrong nursing school or are in the wrong profession!
dont fall for this J&J bullshit, nursing sucks, talk to real bedside nurses to get the real story not the jackasses that make slick ads for u tube, shortages happen for a reason!
I just love the voice of the woman who sings "Your a nurse. You make a difference!!!" Who is she??? She rocks!!! I can't get this song out of my head:)
Just to clarify for cruberry. I AM NOT AN ACTOR and the RN is not a paramedic! He is a RN masking a patient in an ambulance. And in real life, I am Registered Nurse, in fact pursuing my MA in Nurse Anesthesia.
I love this video. I am currently working toward my nurse educator. No cruberry, it is not trying to impress people, it is trying to send a message that through one person, many lives can be touched, the student nurse, the people the nurse helps and the community when in need through the actions of other nurses. Be professional and go Nursing!
Is it so difficult to impress people with the nursing profession that you have to portray them in the role of a paramedic? The only accurate portrayal in this piece is how poorly she delivers BVM ventilations.
