I never truly appreciated this piece until I saw it performed live. If you guys haven't yet, you all should go to a symphony and listen to classical LIVE, not through a speaker. It's an experience unlike any other. (And who knows, maybe you'll be lucky enough to hear this one!)
I don't have any musical talent whatsoever, but I have so much respect for those who are able to perfom such masterpieces and I am glad that I can enjoy these.
Thanks for the upload and sorry for my bad english.
i have never heard this song from beginning to end before...and considering i listen to things that are the opposite of relaxing...this song almost made me cry, its so beautiful, i really have respect for classical music now o.o
Well how's this for badass - the Nazis banned the performance of this piece because it celebrates the independence of medieval Switzerland from Hapsburg overlordship - not a concept that was popular with the Nazis.
Mickey Mouse played that too.^^

72. Try playing the William Tell Overture by tapping on the bottom of your chin. When nearly done, announce "no, wait, I messed it up," and repeat.

everyone check out the Khachaturian Masquerade Suite.
it has one of the best bass lines that really keeps the music together.

Thank God I'm not alone, some people think that if you love classical music you can't like other types of music.
I listen to all types of music because I appreciate all of them.

Also, the piano transcription by Liszt is amazing, but you have to have wrists like machine guns to play it! Kemal Gekic is definitely my hero.
