  • I know I'm not high, but damn, I fucking feel like I am.

Or at least I think I'm not.

  • Where are cool heads like this every time I've wanted to start a band? People around here ONLY play hippie / roots music, metal, covers, etc. I need to move back to NYC. This shit is epic.

  • this band is great everyone should check out saint dymphona and their EP RAWWAR

also i second black dice as an EXcellent noise band they are definately one of my favourites

  • What song is it?

  • What song is this?

  • she has a really terrible voice and she knows it.

  • i fucking love this

  • well thay are actually nois band. not here, though

  • Ahhh soo wwowowowikckkced!!!

  • This would be great if they didn't have Yoko Ono spittin shit over the tracks.

  • pretty crazy shit. In all honesty though I enjoyed it. Right when it sounds like it's falling apart something new jumps out and starts it right back up.

  • ok first off I wouldn't consider this noise. more of an experimental shoegaze type deal. and aso this is the first time I've ehard Gang Gang Dance and it sounds awesome.

  • whats some good noise bands?

  • yes please.

  • don't listen to all of the above, they have noise elements. Some good noise bands would be Arabs on Radar, Lightning Bolt, Hella, No Age, Battles, The Boredoms, and Melt Banana.

  • don't forget black dice

  • yellow swans, merzbow, ruins, wolf eyes, the locust, aids wolf, holy mcgrail, and i think growing is amazing although they're more drone than noise.

  • Distortion + no effort = ouch!

  • they should just disable youtube commenting all together

  • Or restrict it to propositions such as "Gang Gang Dance Totally Rule".

  • OranjeVision - for this 1 comment i hate you " It must also be said that the nature of noise itself has to be questioned. What constitutes noise is purely subjective, as on a basic level, noise is anything that isn't pleasant to hear." The most stuck up answer i have ever heard - Fuck off and get some friends

  • I don't know you but if you have friends, which you implied, let them hug you.

  • @Dandango123 Why don't you actually refute his claims instead of name calling?

  • @pureland2015 cos i'm a dickhead.

  • @Dandango123 yeah you are! a fucking biting ass nigga

  • @pureland2015 i'm not black.

  • @Dandango123 yeah you're still biting ass

  • @pureland2015 <3 you are your americanisms

  • @pureland2015 and*

  • @Dandango123 <3 you too!

  • what song is this???

  • what is this song called?

  • its Gang Gang Dance feat. Tinchy Stryder Princes

  • no it isnt

  • what song is this called? or is it just a jam session?

  • I can't answer this, but I too would love to know what song this is...maybe it's in one of their EPs?

  • i think people call them noise, because of the chaotic nature of the music, not because of abscence of chords or riffs.

  • Great act -- just saw them last night in Chicago.

  • It's also pretty obvious if you go to the concert or watch this video the singer also contributes with percussion and effects.

  • The bass woofers BANG live in concert. One of the few bands around on the endangered species list that try to innovate instead of imitate. I don't know how people can diss this music when so much else is watered down rehash of the 60s, 70s, and 80s nowadays. I Can't wait for flannel and torn clothing to come back in as vintage in a couple of years.

  • th singer also brings a great sound to the music

  • the guitarist is playing the middle eastern-esque melody. What the hell do you mean he's not doing anything?

  • I don't get why people talk when they don't know anything about what they're talking about and are only making themselves look like jackasses.

  • their sound has cleaned up a whole lot. and the live act has gotten much better too. i was referring to the time i saw them in miami for basel 07. no, guitarist wasn't there for a good show that night, then again, miami is a big fucking joke. no surprise for 1/2 the group showing up with their A-game that night.

---there are other perspectives beyond that of all your exposure to life through youtube.

  • I REALLY want them to release the new album soon. The new material is so sweet. Shame the luminaire's over 18.

  • Hell yes.

  • why call them a noise band?

  • Because it's a noise band: go listen to last Hillulah track (The Cooler), you'll change your advise about them...

  • Or at least they got noise elements :D

  • i disagree i think of noise as being a much more distorted, cold version of music.....i personally see them as more tribal chant/ belly dancing music.............sure there are no true lyrics but does that really make them noise.....couldnt they just be an instrumental band that sees the human voice as an eqaul instrument?

  • yeah, i mean noise music is a genre, and the gang gang dance have their own classifications of genre.

  • On their recordings at least, there are "true lyrics." Noise is not necessarily distorted and cold. It's really difficult to define but I can definitely hear the 'noise' aspect of their music

  • like fantomas

  • Noise is something that isn't pop, and pop is anything with a melody or riff. And there are riffs all over the place with these guys. Thus: Not noise.

  • noise pop.

  • your reductionist definition fails on both accounts. MANY songs featuring "noise" got popular. MOST non-popular music is not noise (it just isn't popular). Pop is neither defined nor constrained by having a melody/riff. If this is really how you think about music, I say; STOP LISTENING, you are NOT HELPING.

  • Good point.

It must also be said that the nature of noise itself has to be questioned. What constitutes noise is purely subjective, as on a basic level, noise is anything that isn't pleasant to hear.

I like Sonic Youth, but I don't consider their music 'noise' despite obvious contradictions; Pussycat Dolls however, is unpleasant to hear, therefore noise.

    Totally subjective.

  • Wow you're really....cool? Intellectual? Does anyone care what your definition of noise is? Probably not.

  • This new song is great! Can't wait for their next album

  • whoawow thanks so much for uploading this!

  • That was an amazing performance, I'll definately see them again if I get the opportunity. Also, the Luminaire is a great venue, nonchalant yet also quite lively once things start rolling.
