  • You have not experienced Shakespeare until you have read him in the original Klingon

  • They seriously need to do a remake of this game!

Cutscenes converted to Full HD(assuming the original films still exist), modern graphics and physics but with the same gameplay... now that would just be pure awesome.

  • "Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war!"

  • Death... will have its day!

  • this makes me want to play bridge commander. ( kobayashi maru )

  • Best game ever!

  • Blowing chunks out the saucer section of a Federation starship was so satisfying. I wish that damage system was in Legacy... and Legacy didn't suck so hard in general.

  • A real damned shame they didn't use General Chang more. Christopher Plummer just delievers a great performance and even David Warner as Chancellor Gorkon. Their characters and personalities...that's what I wished the Klingons were like instead of the mega Viking warrior Klingons we see in TNG, DS9, and Voyager.

  • Patch has been released to play Klingon Academy on modern systems (XP/Vista/7):

  • This game was much better than Bridge Commander. Imagine if they had applied the same principles with the level of technology that was available when BC was released. Pure awesomeness.

  • chang brought class to being a klingon warrior

  • Anyone know how to get KA working in Win 7???

  • das spiel ist so was von scheiß

  • "The worst is death...and death will have his day..."

    True words indeed...

  • this game is badass no matter how old plus I love how the explosions sound!

  • Who could play a younger version of General Chang or Klingon Battle commander Kang ?

  • Back when Klingons were smart.

  • This was one 1st class game. A pity my ancient copy no longer works.

  • Wow, that trailer was epic! Klingon Academy was one of the best Star Trek games ever put out because it gave some amazing culture boosts to the already well developed Klingons. This and General Chang will forever be some of my favorite sci-fi creations ever.

  • There's no sound in space! Damn it!

  • Starfleet and Klingon academy games were awesome, this game had an epic story sequence.

the first person shooter "Klingon" game was petty cool too even let u do a space walk on a ship Klingon cruiser hull.

  • The Interplay era was the golden age of Trek gaming. You had this, Starfleet Academy, Starfleet Command, 25th Anniversary, Judgment Rites, and so forth. While they weren't without their flaws, they were very atmospheric and true to the franchise. Some of the more recent releases are basically just poorly executed clones of popular games with the Star Trek label slapped on as an afterthought.

  • @SciFi2285 Yes these were the superior games, you not only got a game but you felt like you were watching and participating in a new movie or episode, I still play this to this day

  • @SciFi2285 Well said!

  • A Klingon only Movie would be awesome 1

  • This is a brilliant game but boy was it hard to control without a joystick. Even then it was painful to remember all the shortcuts to transfer energy to a particular system etc. But sneaking upon a Federation fleet and attacking it with disruptors blazing upon the enemies hull...Boy was that a feeling.

  • how cool is that? Christopher Plummer not only playes this part in Star trek VI but also returned for a videogame? cool guy.

  • Cry woe, destruction, ruin and decay. The worst is death and death shall have his day.

    Shakespeare and star trek, brilliant

  • You can play it on a Intel Mac using Boot Camp.

  • I don't think I'd ever have the heart to shoot the Enterprise or an Enterprise like Starship. They are just too beautiful.

  • @Grykus7 You should change your youtube username from "Grykus7" to "Geekus7".

    It's just a game, sheesh...

  • sounds kool

  • I was number one ranked Romulan pilot and number three overall when I played this game back in the day.

  • Great cinematics really good actors and and a good game. Games such as this no longer come up. Unfortunately I had bought only star fleet academy.

  • This game was a Prequel to Undiscovered Country.

The cinematic cut scenes were brilliant and the combat in the game excellent. i'd love to see a new game but using up to date graphics.

  • Klingon Academy is one of the best game based on the ST world I've ever played! :)

  • how did chang lose his eye?

  • change lost his eye early in the game, he was trying to kill the leader of some uprising i forgot the whole story, he transported on his ship they had a fight and he got his eye slashed.

  • sorry chang *, I wish they made a 2nd of this game. This is one of the greatest games ever

  • Chang lost his eye in the opening cinematic and he did kill the insurrection leader.

  • He lost the eye in the opener cinematic. This game could have lived forever had they devoted the money to fix it.

  • watch, Klingon Academy Intro

    by ValiantClan

    in youtube

  • Klingon Academy, Bridge Commander, X-Wing TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance are my favourite space combat simulator games. I like Legacy and Dominion Wars, too, but they aren't that great.

  • Same for Starfleet Acacdemy: Good game but not as great as the above ones mostly because the capital ships act more like fighters.

  • if they could make this remake just as the same but with old an new of all ships an the graphics up to date it would be the most kick ass game just like old but new stuff

  • And the NaxoFX Evolved engine could be the right one of a KA remake.

  • i luved this game, but my cd1 got a huge crack in it now it wont work =[

most amazing trek game ever, huge cinematics, real actors, great music score all on 6 discs, they dont make them like they used to

  • Welcome to the club. My CD1 was destroyed, too. And that was the fault of my bloody CD drive back then.

Luckily my other CD's containing the videos are still intact.

  • Such a great game. To be honest, I'm still amazed that they were able to get Christopher Plummer. He obviously enjoyed Star Trek VI and wanted to reprise his role. Which he did brilliantly.

David Warner, of course, rocked as Chancellor Gorkon, one of the most interesting TOS-era Klingons.

  • Actually David Warner was great during the video shoot but Christopher Plummer was a prick the entire time. I do love his work though. I worked on that title and it still stands for me as the greatest Star Trek title and capital ship combat game ever.

  • Oh. That's disappointing. I would've thought that he was a nice enough guy,

  • I've met Plummer and he's really nice

  • Wish this game would still work on Vista. Freaking piece of crap Vista.... This was the greatest space sim ever.

  • don't i know it! crappy vista. why can't you get games like this anymore?

  • CRY HAVOK AND LETS SLIP THE DOGS OF WAR

  • You've never experienced Shakespeare until you've read him in original Klingon.

    "Taq Ba...Taq Beq!"

    Qapla!

  • You just don't see games like this anymore. Ten years on, I think this is still the best Star Trek game ever released.

  • Absolutely true.

  • best game ever

  • Agreed, this is still hundred times better than Legacy or bridge commander.

And I'm saying this, having only played the Demo!

  • General Chang Rules!

  • this and birth of the federation were the best trek games

  • I agree. Christopher Plummer also had a part in designing his makeup, because he wanted to be the first bald Klingon. Also, he so defines his political era. He's like a Klingon Nixon (if you have read American history that far back LOL)

  • Phenomenal game. My disc 1 is scratched and won't run the game anymore...

The plot was extraordinary and the acting wonderful.

  • One of my favorite game trailers of all time! (The game itself isn't bad, either.) ;) Christopher Plummer was superb reprising his role as General Chang.

  • this was an most AWESOME game >> sadly CD2+3 died on me :-( the good old days, when you had like 2~4 trek games per year ... and now? nothing ... i think that Elite Force 1 was in fact the last good trek game

    so sad :-(

  • That was cool!!!!!

  • 6 cds of awesomeness!! Wonder if it runs on Vista :D

  • Let me know if it does! please!

  • It does actually run once you install the 1.02 patch, theres some graphical corruption occasionaly, but its playable :D

  • This is the best Trek Trailer and the very best older Game of Star Trek!

Hey, Chang was my idol for many years :P

    Q'pla' !

  • Kai Klingon, Kai Chang! (:P)

These were the good old days of Empire.

  • pahtak! weak humans

  • He may have been a villian to us, but Chang was a Klingon patriot. (And so were Valeris and Cartwright!)

  • Looked like a good game. Too bad I didn't have a computer back when to get it. If I could find it, I wonder if it can run on XP

  • you can but you have to download a patch

  • death will have his day.

    Qa'Pla!

  • He seems to play like a good guy in this trailer

  • he kinda does. He cares more about the Empire at this time, saving it from traitors so he helps Gorkon*

  • He's a cool Klingon ^_^

  • what song is this?

  • It's the theme song of the game.

  • A great game in spite of the brutal mismanagement at Interplay.

  • Great game

    I have it.

  • "Cry: woe... destruction... ruin and decay /

The worst is death, and death shall have his day."

  • General Chang makes me feel proud to be a Klingon.

    K'plaa!

  • But your Klingon grammar teacher would not :)

    Q'pla!

  • Besser als jeder anderer Trailer würd ich mal sagen.

    Und das Spiel selbst: Affengeil.

  • absolutely the BEST st sim!

  • I remember seeing that trailer on the Starfleet Command disc and nearly crapping my pants with anticipation! And the game Delivered! It was SO awesome! Almost as good as A Final Unity.

  • best ST game ever made in my opinion

  • In mine, too.

I just wish they'd have made a 24th century version with General Martok in General Chang's role as Academy Instructor.

    That would've been brilliant.

  • Well...Martok kind of lacked the sense of tragedy that surrounds General Chang, And I think Plummers' exposition is a little more caculating than Hertzler, kind of got that sense of a nobility upbringing, compared with a commoner from the Ketha low lands.

Definately better suited to the Shakesperian atmosphere....

  • How i loved this Game... and this trailer made me almost crazy back then! The Music, the scenes... AWESOME!
