Your particles need UV coordonates (a UV map) so the program knows how to project textures onto them. Use "facing" particles which are just planes and apply your material "per face" so it does a flat projection automatically.
I've increased the speed so you don't get bored. The originals lasted 4 minutes. And the explosion on the first one just happened to synchronise with the heavy part on 'can't stop the feeling'. They liked it so much they added a solo for the live song so the crowd could watch the animation to the end..

These effects can easily be create with Wondertouch Particle Illusion software.

Nah it were easy, Human resources sub-contracted an army of manual workers to carry around the particles for me.
