  • when he walks off for that split seccond, chers face! aw you gotta love their amazing chemistry :)

  • Sonny is just standing there and doing nothing, what the hell?

  • @locotaco10 She was supposed to go out solo, but she has stage fright. she wouldn't go out unless he did too.

  • Sunny has the classic "Basque-Celtic" genetics .

  • at the same time cher, had her version of this song out the byrds, had theirs out also as a single. because hers got most air play on radio DJ's flipped over the the byrds record and played "I'll feel a whole lot better when your gone", and it became a hit too.

  • I miss Sonny!

  • this was the first version i heard when i was a kid....

  • @ Cher....Loved U in "Tea with Musso".... All U Big Broads were fab.

    Great Movie....All my best U......

  • Alexisdyr fair enough,best regards

  • What the hell is Sony doing,he looks a real pillock

  • @juanbbien Cher was shy and diden't want to go up on the stage by her self ;)

  • Like how she flubbed at the end.

  • like cher, hate how tv was back then.

  • I just love this song! The Byrds AND Cher did a great job on it.

  • Great song great post. Looks like Cher had some orthodontia done too. At about 1:13 ff. there is a mouth closeup of Cher and it looks like a lower left incisor was missing. Sonny looks like a fugitive from a "Pirates of the Carribean" movie. Still a great post and a great song. They were a great duo. Love the memory. Thanks again. Some of their really early stuff was done under the group of Clio and Caesar.

  • Her looks beautiful, voice sweet. Fast forward 40 plus years. She is botox boob job city. Her voice an uncanny resemblance to Mr. Ed the talking horse. Oh Wiburrrrr

  • Wow, never heard the song and video. Love the 60s! : )

  • Sonny is such a clown. LOL.

  • best summer of my life!! ... as a teenager:=)

  • Cool pop version of a great Bob Dylan song! Thanks for posting.

  • Let's keep in mind that Sonny was the one who wrote a lot of their hits. He was underrated as a songwriter.

  • @RoyFive I never knew that. Thank you. I wish the 60s era could've tipped over into the early 70s and continue.

  • @Khultan I really didn't care much for how their public personas changed by the time their variety series premiered. Sonny, in real life a very clever and cautious man, came off on the show as a geeky, bubbleheaded stooge and Cher was turned into a sassy put-down artist. Kind of set pop culture back a decade or two. Dylan on the other hand stayed clear of all that and hung onto his mystique.

  • @RoyFive What I don't understand is, maybe, Cher might be somewhere near the age of the audience but how to explain Sonny?

  • @Khultan Sonny did what a lot of artists at the time were doing (Dewey Martin and John Phillips come to mind) and lowered their ages somewhat. Sonny was actually born in 1935 but some of the fan magazines reported it as 1940--which would have only been six years older than Cher instead of 11.

  • @RoyFive

Sonny was indeed VERY underrated as a songwriter.

  • thank you for that vid!

  • Thanks for that upload ! Such a great video !

  • What a jerk he was! So jealous of her talent he still had to be there when she was supposed to be singing solo. Guess she proved him right in the end.....

  • @seaslave1 He wanted her to go solo but he stood by her side and sang with her cause she had stage fright.

  • #290

  • Awesome! :)

  • I LOVE CHER, I LOVE "ALL I REALLY WANT TO DO" i like it i like it like it like it

  • i love cher and she really pulled it off when i first heard this i thought it was sonny and cher lol not just cher alone

  • Cool.Great Dynamics!Wow. Awesome.Yeh.....!

  • They were just so CUTE!!

  • Came back after a couple or months to hear and see this again. I sure remember Shindig...and Hulabaloo. Showin' my age...but so be it. Where was Shindig filmed / based out of? Joel in Tucson

  • The Hollywood club version is cooler, but hey.....I'm in love........forever....thanks BOBBY D.!!!!!!~E

  • Cher's 60's voice is really different from her usual voice

  • Well, this is about the 10th time I've played this in a row now. Time to take a break, although I don't really want to. Man....just listen to this gal belt out the lyrics over the Shindig recorded track. THAT...is the way a chick singer is SUPPOSED to sound! Only her and my homegirl Linda Ronstadt can pull it off like that. And yeah, she didn't need the knife at all. The plastic surgeon should have been tarred and feathered.

  • Geez, I was in 5th grade at the dusty ol' cottonfield town of Marana, Ariz. All the kids rode the schoolbus and had little tiny am radios they held near their ears and sang to school. This song, as well as all the British Invasion stuff was standard fare to and from school. Nobody had any money, we all wore levis, white t-shirts and cheap Converse All-Stars (guys) but yet had nothing but fun back then.

  • Okay, but The Byrds version is better.

  • nice!!!

  • phil spector and sonny produced the song!!

  • I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it on TV, but it wasn't "Shindig". It could have been "Where the Action Is", as I believe it was an outdoors scene. I still have the 45, although it's so worn out it likely wasn't worth keeping.

Also, I SO prefer Cher's looks during these years before she had surgeries.

  • i LOVE this song!!! i bought a "cher" record a few years back from a vintage record store. and the record was still sealed, never opened or played. this was one of the songs on it. and when i heard it i got a familiar feeling inside. although, i don't THINK i had ever heard the song. and i really did DIG it!!!

thanks for posting the LIVE video. i really do love "sonny & cher". i remember my mom, dad, & me, watching their show back in the "70's".

  • LOL so funny; she sings live OVER the original vocals of her song... gotta love the 60s!

  • @chermaster85

Actually, she is singing both the high part and the low part. Probably lip synching on Shindig, they did that on American Bandstand, Hullabaloo, and Lloyd Thaxton too. But on the record, lots of people thought that was Sonny singing with her.. Many thought she was a guy singing too.

  • @bloderme lolo!!i haven't heard the name Lioyd Thaxton since the 60s!!you must live in L.A,I watched the beatles land and come off the plane with people singing "we love you beatles on the Lloyd Thaxton show...sam riddle...and others

  • @chermaster85 They still do that today.

  • way cool! glad you posted!

  • awsome!

  • Soooo cute!!!! Thank you so much for this nyrainbow5!
