My husband was staying at a hotel in Tuscan where the Google car drivers were staying. They told him it could take up to six months to be updated. (Not sure if that's right.)

I drove by two Google cars a few days after that. Unfortunately, my car is so common, I don't think I would recognize my own car.

Actually they use a satilite for google earth, google maps is the one that takes street images.

@firedx12 actualy they use a plane for the most part, the very distant pictures are satelite. If they used a satelite for all arial shots each pixel would cover 10m squared.

The best satelites are looking at 1meters squared per pixel, cheap imaging sat is looking at up to 10meters squared per pixel, zooming in on someones face from space is in films only, its not impossible, we obv have scopes that can see much greater distances but it would cost so much its just not commisioned.

@firedx12 If you zoom in all the way, you get street view on Google Earth as well. In fact, it works better because it's a program made for the purpose rather than going through a web browser.
