Those who have a religion can feel happy because it is not given to all the faith in things celestial. It not just because fear of punishment after death. Many will not admit Purgatory, Hell or Heaven, but a religion-and no matter what religion-keeps men on the straight path. It is not fear of God but of our own honor and our conscience.
