It is not a choice, and it is not a "life style". Assuming you are heterosexual, would you describe yourself as living a certain kind of life style because of it? You seem to be well-intentioned, and I appreciate that, but your choice of words is unfortunate. To say "life style" is slightly degrading because it could suggest exactly what you said; that it is a choice, and that the choice is somehow frivolous. Again, I'm sure it wasn't your intention, but to many gay people, this is what we hear.
well what is so wrong with being a choice...I believe we as humans have the power to chose what we want in our life. I see it as falling in love with the person and there is nothing wrong with loving a woman if you are a woman. It is a privilege we take for granted. Again...what if the choice is to be "gay"? It only shows that we can love no matter what.
Sexual orientation is not a choice. There are many people who consider themselves bisexual or pansexual, but that is not a choice. There are many people who are strictly heterosexual or homosexual. This is not a choice. There are many people who experiment sexually - this is a choice. There is a distinct difference. Falling in love with someone of the same sex is not necessarily a sexual attraction. There is a distinct difference with this as well. I appreciate you being open-minded though.
