  • I am not a great fan of Fleming at all but for some reason, i think she makes the *best* Countess Almaviva ever .. it takes a pretty "easy" voice and solid technique to sing in such a relaxed pose as well! Her acting is absolutely astounding and her voice is so beautiful. Such a moving performance, i'm actually crying while i'm writing.

  • What a wonderful, wonderful artist! Her intonation is always perfect and in total accord with the pitch of the orchestra. On top of everything she is also beautiful.I adore her!

  • She sang this while she was pregnant...Daaaang! Now THAT is skill!

  • Renee fleming in the 90's. There is actually nothing like it!

  • I'm not a fan of hers, but I love hear Renee in this role... Her breath never ends, it's beautiful! :)

  • She sings "Porgi amor" better than anyone else, absolutely ANYONE! And I'm not even a great fan of hers. I just think she understands what the feeling for this piece is.

  • @mrdrodrigues /watch?feature=player_embedded&v=AYKFmgF0MbM - this is the greatest countess of all time, Sena Jurinac!!!!

  • it's opera, you don't have to be a certain body size for this

  • OperaLover 84 - I love your comment! In her autobiography, Ms. Fleming described her voice as being a big net that she can cast out onto the audience to draw them into what she is singing. I had the pleasure if seeing her in Boston in February singing Strauss with the BSO and, my impression was that her voice is more like a big, warm, luxurious fur coat (I don't wear fur myself) that you just wanted to climb inside of and snuggle. Such yummy richess in her voice. Brava, indeed!

  • @LaHautevoix Love your description of Renee Fleming's voice - perfect!!

  • Mmm, like taffy! Brava!

  • look at those boobs! LOL...very beautiful singing. I love hearing the countess with a rich tone

  • she was pregnant here, that's why ;)

  • she looks and sounds like a dream

  • she looks kinda heavy here..when was this?

  • Glyndeborne 1994.

  • She captures the 'desperate housewife' look very well in this piece.
