The original designers, gabrielle (coco chanel), yves saint laurent, etc. were so much better than their successors. The couture houses, and other brands, just aren't the same anymore.

Everything is so hi tech these days. Mainstream fashion is so drab even though it's highly over the top (like those death contraptions...runway heels). I prefer simplicity. Being amazingly simple is so much more inspiring. And nothing says grace, class, femininity and simplicity like the early part of the 20th century all the way up to the 60's. Just lovely :)

The best thing were the lacy, feminine lingerie ... women and girls had to be more demure and coy ... tugging at their skirts to not reveal lacy slip hems and gartered stocking tops. As a teenage boy it drove you wild to want to know what the girl was wearing under there that she was hiding so diligently. Some of the slips then were often prettier and more feminine than the dresses they wore over them. Late in the 60s pantyhose and short skirts became popular, and ended an era.

Some trends/subcultures may sprout but there is too much individualism and personal pursuits in the 21st century for ALL women to ever be like the women in this video ever again. (and if you ask me it's much better that way, despite your romanticized perceptions of the 60's era). It's not so bad that people are centered on themselves and desire perfection, that's what happens with years of fighting for freedom of self and identity. Come to terms with our wonderful era full of its own surprises.

@Auggieautomne It's unfair of you to look down on the 20th century when you didn't live through most of it. Both centuries have qualities and characteristics unique to them. Let people have their desires for things to be like the 20th century again, or to live there. Just like you have your 21st century desires. You don't see anybody criticizing you for that. As for the 60's, it might not be as romantic as was publicized, but it definetly had class which is what makes it different from now.

I can't get over seeing all these comments from people who long for the day when females dress this way again. Here is the problem. 1: When one actually does it she gets mocked to no end by a hapless public dressed in jeans, sweats, etc. 2: If you all wish it to happen, why not be the trendsetters yourselves and do it and stop waiting for other people to? Things won't change unless someone decides they will. Has to start somewhere!!
