I was there 4 the opening show, June 9th. Audience went berserk. Elvis' performance great until about mid-way. He was onstage 45 minutes. Screams all the way thru. Better music than the album rel. in '72.
The bottom line with Elvis.....the guy was incredible.....absolutely incredible. He opened the door for everyone. He crossed lines that had never been crossed....he offended people....that needed to be offended. He is the king ...... the undisputed king.
I hate to say it gooup, yes its true he did do what black artists had been doing for years, but, with the racial problems back when he started no one took notice and nobody cared about these artists, it was elvis that opened the doors to black artists before that no one took notice to them [main stream white america]
It is sad that in the 1970s I remember the period as bittersweet with both Tragedy & Joy. Loss of my Loved Ones & Entertainers. It should have been enjoyed more but with the deaths of Janis Joplin to Elvis Presley made it impossible to be the most enjoyable decade in history. It was a real sad waste.
This is great! Thank you for sharing! I wish more Elvis concerts would have been filmed professionally! I guess noone understood the real impact that he made on the world!
Two words: Awe Some! O.K., I know awesome is just one word, but for Elvis ya just gotta make it two! He was that great!

@keithmoon90
I think this is newsreel footage - I was there on June 9th, 1972 and the music on this clip is not the l.p. music.
