Zune subscriptions work the same way it's $15 dollars a month and you get to keep 10 songs each month only drawback is they only work on zune players which are dead now maybe if ms pushes it enough and just uses mp3 format or an iPod app it could be really cool

I believe that last.fm is superior on the discovery and community aspects of an online music service. It takes your whole iTunes library and compares it to other users and artists. Furthermore, artists can be added by the community, so all the minor musicians are accounted for as well.

Sweet new MMM intro thing. And I've been using Rdio for a while, but what I worry about is how hard it is to leave Rdio. Once I decide to not pay ( or if for some reason I can't pay) I lose all of the "collections" and songs that I've accumulated over the years. Like you said, we don't "own" our songs. I would like to see a Zune like streaming service that also offers a few downloads for each month. As for streaming, it bothers me that I cannot cache the songs for offline listening.

@logicallytechnology It is rather annoying; however, I think I remember Rdio saying that downloading/caching songs will be available for the Mac client as with iOS and other mobile clients.

@ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy That would alleviate a lot of my concerns actually, because if you can download songs onto your device, I'm sure there would be a way to keep the songs cached after you terminate your service. Of course, there's the legality issues of that, and if it's illegal, you might as well just torrent the music in the first place. Oh well, sorry for rambling. Anyways, I think I'll wait and see how Spotify approaches the US market and then decide whether I want to stick w/ Rdio.
