@PLCGirl101: Note wise, it is not - but sonically there is no difference. The chords are the same, which is what I picked when I did this piece by ear.
i really like your playing, it sounds rather different to the origional composition. I can't work out if it is better or not so better, but i know one thing your increadibly skilled. well done,
is it worth my 800 dollars to buy this ? i mean like its great and all but im a gamer and doesn't have a lot of talents :[ if i got this and practice will it be worth it. to perform great piano music ? please reply . And what website do you get sheets of music for piano?
You don't need an 800$-Piano. Look for a Yamaha P85 or, if not available (which was the case for me two weeks ago), it's bigger brother P95 (which is what I got now). What's really important is that it has GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) Keys, so it feels like a piano (without that you won't be able to play an actual piano properly), and a good sound.
Yamaha, Korg or Roland are good brands, you might wanna stick to them.
Spend the remaining money on socks. Can't have enough of them.
man it sucks that i only have video games and a computer and laptop , but sometimes i just want an instrument so i can play beautiful songs like most people :(
for beginners they should read the music sheet and play piano and focusing on that one song you play ,keep doing that and you will start to doing it by ear, but go for an easy song that does'nt need to press to keys in the same time , i think its pretty hard to beginners to do that ?! i can't even do it right i get confused some times
Thanks. I learnt how to play it by ear, so I guess it is different to the notes, but it sounds the same. I changed a couple of notes hear and there so yeah, I modified it myself.
Hi you play more than amazing and i think that no one have the words to discribe it .. i hope you will do tutorial of the song maybe just the first main part :) i and and many who watch ur videos will be very happy :) :)
I have the same piano model as you and I was wondering if you can tell me how you get the song from the piano onto your computer. And also what instrument you use on piano. Are you using Live! Grand Piano or something different?
Btw, you are amazing at this song! On par with the original in my opinion =)
I GOT IT! I got the YPG-635, it sits ten feet from where i am now, i am so happy now, this keyboard is the best, oh and i didn't get the three pedals because i don't know what the other 2 do!
Glad to hear you've got it and you like it. The only thing I upgraded when I had it was the pedal. I got a Roland DP-10 because the one Yamaha provided isn't very good. Try changing the touch response to "3(Hard)" for a much warmer sound, and experiment duelling different piano's and try different reverb settings to get the best piano sound you can.
thanks, i already set it to 3(hard), because it sounds really good. Oh and my brother bought it so it's not really mine, but obviously he lets me use it!
I read you story and seems like you more talent than me. It took me 3 months to get the right hand and left to go together. The first song i learned was What I've Done (ear) and then My Heart Will Go On (also by ear). Then I learned River Flows in You And now I'm working on this one. Kind of slow for 8 months!
Let me tell you something: the average piano player advances at the rate of 1 grade per year, and learn piece off sheet music. River Flows In You is a grade 4. For you to be playing that after 8 months isn't bad at all.

After 3 weeks I was playing well The Moonlight / Bethoveen, Comptine d'un autre ete l'apres midi / Yann Tiersen, Melodia Africana 1 + 3, Bella Notte / Ludovico Einaudi. AM I AMAZING OR WHAT
Really? Wow! You learnt all those in that space of time? Incredible! Do you play them with one finger, or two? I can't wait to see your videos for those pieces as I'm a real big fan of piss-takers and bull-shiters!
I hav't had a lesson in my life and now i can barely play a river flows in you. im not sure if it's some easier version or something. The first thing i learned that required at least some skill was about 2 weeks ago when i started getting interested in playing piano and that was "How to save a life" by the fray. Now i really want to learn this song. I learn some things by ear but thats mostly on drums and guitar. is there any way you can make like a short video for how to play the chorus? Thanks
really good piano there. feely song, good for this song. only thing I can possably say was bad was that there where no accented notes, would make it sound less repatative. but yeah thats amazing playing seen as that you learnt it by ear :D
it's a lovely keyboard, I still have my eyes on the YPG-635, which bears an unmistakable resemblance to this keyboard, I guess it's a slightly advanced version or something.
The only difference between a DGX-620/YPG-625 and a DGX-630/YPG-635 is with the 635 you have the option of having 3 foot pedals with it. So yeah, slightly advanced :)
